Poem 122

Grey clouds threatened to take over the sky,

Snow started to fall as the sun said goodbye.

So beauteous, yet murderous and numbing,

People scrambled to hide as they saw it coming.

Flake by flake danced down on the concrete,

It was not long before white took the street.

Silence fell upon the city that I never loved,

For quiet moments like this, I've always longed.

People of this place saw nothing but a storm,

But I saw the beauty of nature taking its form.

Today was hushed, peaceful, chilling and white,

The ground will imitate the stars and sparkle tonight.
