The sharp whipping sound of a arrow sizzled passed her ear and missed it by inches. Arachnè gave a very slight gasp but quickly sharpened her focus on her opponent. Around her, the battle danced. Her men against his, her attacks against his shields and her blade against his magic. Even the weather seem to understand that an awesome and dramatic event was taking place, and so, added the flare of storming winds and thunderclaps.

"Do you sink so low," Arachnè hissed, venomous with spite, as they clashed. “As to have your men attack me as we fight?"

Gromph didn't answer. He was too busy wondering if it was entirely wrong of him to think that marrying Jhelen would have been easier.

Arachnè was ruthless with her attacks but Gromph was relentless and just as persistent. Finally, Ara seemed to getting more and more frustrated. The heels of her boots dug into the ash colored ground beneath her feet as she twirled and twisted with her blade. It was ten more minutes of this before they both grow weary and broke apart.

"Why aren't you speaking?" She spat out when she realized he haven't replied to any of her taunts.

Gromph still didn't answer. And he made no move at all to show he had heard her at all.

"Cat got your tongue?" She said softly, feeling oddly sad. Was his regretting his actions against her?

"You told me not to speak." Gromph finally replied with his deep husky voice, a misty but glaring look in his beautiful eyes.

Arachnè frowned, a contemplating look on her face, then realization dawned. "I told you not to sing!" She shrieked with a twitchy smile, “That’s completely different."

Gromph pursed his kissable lips. “My voice was made to sing, all my dreams built on vocals and blood, how could you be so-"

Arachnè aimed another attack at him, Gromph barely deflected it in time. “What in the seven hells, Ara!"

"You were about to do it- I know you were about to do it!"

"Then so be it! My voice was made to sin-"

"Your voice made our children cry!" Arachnè shouted furiously," Our adult children couldn't even handle it."

"Those were tears of joy! I sired people with passion." Gromph protested weakly.

"Passion? Who is this Passion you have violated your vows with!" Arachnè demanded and attacked more fiercely.

"Passion that flows in my veins-"

"We'll see exactly what flows in your veins at the end of this battle!"

It was at this moment,
that a warrior turned to the fellow beside him. Neither friend nor foe any longer, but a suffering soul along side him.
