CHAPTER 8: Neat Trick

Well look who has decided to show up?! Right then and there I wanted to kill him but I knew it would be against the law.

So I instead just glared back at him but then realized that I had better leave otherwise, things could get bad real fast and it would blow everything I am trying to do with Evanora, so I left.

Honestly, there was a part of me that was serious in getting to become closer to Evanora but then once I saw him walk in and her still acting as though it's okay, that just made me return to the original reason as to why I should get closer to her, because she could be great for my reputation if I get her to trust me and we can create a peace treaty between our kinds once and for all.

"I'll see you later Evanora." I tell her while on my way out still glaring at the guy.

He just grins in a sinful way and for some reason, I don't see how she can't tell that he's a demon. I mean sure, his eyes are brown and he always looks like a regular person but still, how can she NOT tell?!?

When I made it back over to the shop, I got set up for my first client of the day and I had to try and do my best to focus on the person's tattoo.

They were wanting a huge back piece and it was a three day job to which this happened to be the last of the piece today. It took me several hours but we finally finished it up and I headed out in the back to relax before my next client came in.

"I want to go for a run!" My wolf begs.

"Not now. I need to relax before my next client. Tonight after work we can." I try and tell him.

"Ugh fine. But you owe me a long one." He says.

I hang out for a little while longer and then I head back inside and set up for the next client then once they come inside, we get started right away and it took me until close to closing time.

I had asked Beta to close shop tonight since he was wrapping up with his client and I needed to take my wolf out for a really long run as I had promised him earlier.

So I headed out the back and the side gate that lead out into the woods then went to a tree closest to the entrance of the woods and removed my clothes then shifted real quick and began to sprint as I let my wolf take full control.

We ran for many many miles and after a couple of hours, we stopped by a creek and drank some water.

We were getting ready to lay down and relax when we heard rustling nearby. I started to sniff the air and recognized the scent right away as it belonged to Evanora.

I wonder what she was doing out here so late since it's close to midnight now.

Curious, I decided to go and see what she was up to.

Once I knew I was getting closer, I began to notice looking through some of the trees ahead was her sitting down in a circle with a dark purple hoodie along with a blanket she was sitting down on and took out some food but also a big dark stoned bowl along with some 'ingredients' of hers and lit the liquid in the bowl on fire that had blue flames. Then I saw her take out some candles and place them around the bowl as she began to get comfortable and snapped both her fingers, making each candle light up then began reciting something.

    Show me the memories of the time
    When I was young and my mom was
    alive

That was all she said and suddenly she started watching what seemed to be like a movie as I heard voices.

Okay, I have to admit, that's a pretty cool trick.
