CHAPTER 16: What Did That Mean?!?

I was beyond pissed off at what my Beta just said because I knew that he felt in a way the same way the other guy did. Now my mate has gone upstairs feeling upset which was NOT allowed, despite the fact that I appreciate their honesty because I expect nothing less from them.

The food came and I grabbed some food and drinks for me and Evanora before making my way up to her room.

After knocking and walking inside, I kicked the door shut and walked over towards her after setting down the food and drinks I had brought.

When I sat down beside her on the edge of the bed, I took her hand in mine.

"Please don't let what my guys said affect you." I tell her.

"What if they're right though?" She asks while sniffling.

"What are you saying?" I asked.

"I mean, if we were to be together, there will always be a division between our kinds. Nobody will agree and we would probably be more in danger than ever before because of it and even if it did work out, your pack won't like me." She starts confessing.

I turn her head to look at me.

"Now listen to me. I don't care who the hell agrees with you and me being together and neither should you. And if you're worried because you feel our lives will be more in danger well then, that's fine, we both are strong and together are undefeated. A force to be reckoned with." I tell her.

"Well, what if the Moon Goddess decides to give you all mates again? I'm not sure I can get close to you knowing that's a possibility and then...." She began rambling on until I cut her off by placing my lips onto hers.

I wasn't sure to be honest if it would work or not but I want her to know just how much I want to be with her. In case she hadn't figured that out already from earlier and what all happened in the office.

When I pull my lips apart for a moment and we looked into each other's eyes for a moment as she placed her hand on the back of my neck and leaned closer.

"Promise me." She says.

"Anything." I tell her.

"Promise me that even if the Moon Goddess has you paired with another one, promise we'll do everything we can to convince her to make me yours." She tells me.

I can hear the fear and sadness in her voice before moving inches away from her lips.

"I promise. Nobody is going to ever keep us a part. Not unless you or and I decide that. This is OUR choice and this is OUR relationship." I tell her.

She then smiles and nods in agreement and we start making out before ending up making love, forgetting the food until afterwards where we ate and then cuddled up and fell asleep.

While laying there beside one another, spooning, I couldn't help but feel like it was meant to be. She is so beautiful and amazing that I feel almost like an idiot for ever believing that our kinds had to be enemies just because a handful couldn't find a way to agree on certain things.

It would be awesome if the councils from both hers and mine could seriously see that there's no need for us to be enemies when we already have plenty of those from all walks of life rather it be humans or even our own kinds. As long as we make each other happy, I don't see why we can't find a way to create a treaty to bring back peace between us.

I eventually fall asleep and end up having a dream that was both weird and confusing as it was of me as a kid and both of my parents were fighting about something and I then I saw Evanora.

She was cute and really pretty and looked to be a little younger than me like maybe around six years old and she looked sad. So I tried to run towards her but she kept moving further and further into the woods that the more steps I took inside, the darker it became.

My mother always told me that our dreams have meanings to them most of the time. So if that's true, then what the hell did that mean?
