CHAPTER 27: That's All I Need

EVANORA

I look over at Caspian and mind link him telling him to place the syringe with the demon DNA into my hand behind my back.

He looks at me for a moment as though he is hoping I change my mind. Which obviously I won't.

Finally he ends up reaching into his back pocket and places the syringe behind me and then I immediately take off the cap at the tip of the needle and just jam it right into my inner wrist while trying hard not to wince from the sting of the needle as LaVarkin and his father seem to be discussing something.

When they turn and look at us a moment later, I don't feel any different like I should already. I should be turning. I should be feeling the burning sensation and start seeing darkness but I don't.

I do however start to feel the same pain I had when I was injected with the stuff that removed the demon. Except this dose seemed stronger.

I then hear something drop beside me and look out the corner of my eye to see that there's an empty syringe next to Caspian. He looks at me and I don't know rather to cry, scream or be pissed off at him and yell.

"Forgive me. I love you." He says under his breath. "When I say go, you run."

He clenches his fists as I notice his veins turning black as the venom runs throughout his veins and body. Then winces in pain as he holds his chest and drops to his knees soon growling in pain while we hear his bones begin to crack and he places both his hands onto the ground in front of him as I see him shifting into his werewolf form then as soon as he looks at me, his eyes have already turned black.

"What the hell?!" LaVarkin shouts.

I snap my head back at him and then feel Payton grab my arms a second before Caspian yelled for us to 'run'!

Payton pulled me away while next Beta turned as well and they distracted LaVarkin and his father who next called out to I'm assuming his army as we began to feel the ground start shaking and cracking until all you saw were an orange and yellow glow coming from underneath through the cracks.

Then busting through the ground was in fact, his army. They both can't fight these two alone, let alone the army. I had to help. But how?!

"Listen to me." I began telling Payton as we ran into the nearest empty room. "You are going to try and mind link everyone to come and help us out. Also, get whoever you can of our kinds also."

"Okay but don't you need something? That witch said even though what you just took was a stronger dose and works faster than the first one you were given, don't you think we should try and make sure that you rest some place safe?" She asks.

"There's no time. Now just do what I say and I will figure out something else." I try to convince her.

She looks at me for a moment as if she doesn't believe I'm being honest with her but soon enough does as I asked.

When done, she tells me that everyone now knows about what's going on and before asking me what we are going to do next, we hear out of nowhere a loud banging sound on the door.

"Come out come out...." LaVarkin taunts on the other side of the door.

"I want you to go and bring the others here. We'll try and hold them back." I turn to tell Payton.

"No! There's no way I'm leaving you here...." She protests but I stop her.

"Come on, there isn't much..." I started to explain but then the door was kicked in by LaVarkin who was standing in front of the doorway.

"Now you girls wouldn't be trying to escape would you?" He asks us with a cocked eyebrow. "After all, wouldn't want to miss all the fun!" He emphasizes the last part before tossing Payton hard against the wall having her almost go through the wall.

"You bastard." I tell him. I next begin throwing a few of my tricks that I know by first, forcefully pushing him back and causing him to break through a few walls all the way until he lands several rooms from all of us.

I may not have the demon DNA inside of me anymore but I do still have my parents' abilities and powers running through my veins and that really is all I need and all I have really EVER truly needed.
