EVANORA
I can't believe I ever told Caspian all that I did. Why the hell did I do that? I swear, he better not tell anyone about this.
When I woke up the next day, I told myself that last night was all just a dream and that everything was okay. So I went to the shop not thinking about anything but the shop. Then I saw the four Elders from the Witch's council come walking inside.
Once the spotted me, they walked my way and Payton looked at me worried and confused. I assured her it was alright.
The elders and I next went into the back office to talk.
"So, what brings you guys here?" I ask while trying to hide the nervousness.
"We heard about something that was quite disturbing to us." The head elder mentions.
"Like what?" I ask.
"What business exactly do you have with LaVarkin and his father?" He asks me.
I was furious. I could feel the anger boil up inside of me, rising to the surface upset at the fact that werewolf asshole told the Elders. He has no idea in what he has just done. Meanwhile, I can feel all of their intense eyes staring at me waiting for me to answer.
"None. I promise you there is nothing going on." I explain.
"That's not what has been brought to our attention." He says.
"Well, I don't know who came to you and what they told you but I swear that there is nothing going on. Last night he found me in the woods and talked to me. Then...." I was stopped by another Elder.
"Alright alright. We believe you. However, if word gets around about this, we will have no choice but to have a meeting and decide your future on this council like both your parents were a part of." He mentions.
"I understand." I tell them.
"We trust you and care about you greatly and you know we will always have your back, but you must remember too that we have obligations and the laws we must obey and uphold." He says.
"I know." I replied.
"Well then, we'll be on our way now but before we leave, is there any chance we can buy a few things first?" One of the elders said.
After they left I had Payton stay behind to watch the shop for a bit while I went next door to have a chat with Caspian.
When I walked inside the shop everyone turned their heads and looked at me surprised. Then I saw Caspian come walking out from the back and I stomped my way up to him and then grabbed his arm before he could say anything and pulled him harshly towards outside.
"What the hell?!" He asks.
"How dare you! What the hell ever happened to us minding our own business?!" I demanded.
"What are you talking about?" He asks.
"I'm talking about you blabbing your big mouth about last night and LaVarkin to the point I just had the Elders from the Witches Council practically accusing me and warning me about if I associate myself with LaVarkin or any demon. I am warning you right now, stay the hell out of my life." I say while fighting back tears.
I start to walk out through the back gate and he grabs my arm and turns me around to face him.
"Hold up! I didn't say anything to anyone first of all. Was I going to bring it to the attention of the council? Yes. I was going to today in fact but I decided not to. So why don't you get your sources right before you go around accusing others." He tells me.
I try and calm myself down and then rip my arm from his grasp and begin to leave still pissed off and still scared because the council knows.
I sit in the backroom which is my office really and sit there with the door shut, alone and try meditating to calm myself down, but it's no use.
After an hour or two I decide to finish working and putting a smile on my face but of course, Payton knew something was up. I told her I would tell her later.
After the last customer left for the night, I cleaned up and Payton was so tired that she went home before I did which was okay because I wanted to have a little alone time to think.
It wasn't too long however that I was sitting at one of the little small round tables in the middle of the shop and drinking some tea when I smell a foul and grotesque smell....
"LaVarkin." I say under my breath.
I quickly get up and suddenly all of the lights go out. Normally I wouldn't freak out but in this case I was terrified.
"I know you're here and you are trespassing. Leave now before I make you regret breaking in." I threaten.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Should you be threatening me?" I hear him ask before stepping out of the darkness and into the little bit of light from the outside streets seeping through the windows.
"Leave now." I repeat.
"Or what? You're going to get your big-bad-wolf-boyfriend to hurt me?" He taunts.
"He isn't my boyfriend. Not even a friend and you leave others out of this." I tell him.
"It's such a shame you know. With the Elders knowing you have been talking with me." He mentions.
That was when I knew in that moment that it wasn't Caspian who told the Elders.
"It was you that told." I looked at him with disgust.
"Bravo!" He claps sarcastically. "You figured out the mystery and before you ask why I did it well, you see, first of all, I like messing with the council. They claim to be wise yet they couldn't tell I was a demon in disguise."
"They will find out." I tell him.
"Keep telling yourself that." He grins.
"You bastard." I say before I form an orange ball of light and throw it at him but he blocks it.
Then the next thing I feel is a force yank me back really hard making me hit the wall really hard and breaking a few things nearby.
"You can't hurt me. Remember you're no match for a demon." He mocks while slowly walking towards me as soon as I drop to the ground feeling almost like I was beaten hard in the side, in the stomach, etc. My body was in pain.
I winced while I struggled to get up and started leaning back against the wall while sitting on the floor and as I noticed him start to come closer, I heard the front door at the shop open......
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
