CHAPTER 12: A New start?

SHIT! Who the hell told on her?! There goes my plan to ever having her trust me. Sure I had thought about telling the elders today but decided not to.

Throughout the rest of the day though, as hard as I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I felt bad even though I hadn't sad anything to anyone about what happened last night which is hard because I tell my Beta everything.

After the last client left, I stayed behind while everyone decided to go out and started going through payroll when I heard a noise coming from her shop next door. Then I heard a female screaming and not sure why they did or even who it was, I quickly bolted out my door and ran inside the house not realizing until then that she took the wolf barrier down.

When I saw Payton on her knees, crying as she held Evanora. She looked at me and screamed.

"Help me please. She's hurt badly. Please help me." She begs.

Without hesitation I walked over to them and picked up Evanora who I could hear was groaning in pain but still had her eyes closed while I carried her all the way back to my place with Payton holding her in the back of my car.

When we got to my place, I helped Evanora out of the car and carried her again with her head on my chest as she snuggled closer to me making me and my wolf get excited and yet, felt comfortable.

I handed Payton the keys to open the front door and she did that right before I walked up the porch steps.

We walked inside and I immediately carried her to my room with Payton following right behind me.

As I lay her down onto the bed, I hear Payton sniffling.

"I can call the pack doctor or if she has one that can come." I start to suggest.

"I know what to give her. However, we recently ran out of the stuff and I have to get everything back at the shop. Please stay with her and I will be right back." She looks at me worried.

"Of course." I assure her.

She smiles vaguely and then turns real quick and disappears with the snap of her fingers.

Man, I wish I could do that. That's one of my favorite things they can do.

I sat down in the arm chair that I had in the corner by the window that overlooked the woods in the back and looked at her. She looked badly injured and I started wondering about what had happened.

A couple moments later, I saw her begin to stir around in bed and moan in pain again before suddenly screaming loudly and high pitched.

"Shh...It's okay. You're safe now." I walk over and push her shoulders back so she lays back down in bed while I try calming her down.

"Let me go!" She yells not opening her eyes but moving her hands and legs all over.

"It's okay. It's alright. Wake up." I tell her.

It took a moment until she finally opened her eyes and when she saw me she looked terrified and then was confused.

"What the hell happened? Where's Payton?" She asks panicked.

"It's okay. She's alright. She's out getting some medicine back at the shop. But don't worry, you'll be fine." I try to reassure her.

She looks at me a little worried and then nods and lays back down while wincing in some pain as we share a moment of awkward silence.

"So am I at your place?" She asks.

"Yes." I reply.

"Why?" She asks me.

"Because I heard Payton screaming from next door and when I got in there, I saw her holding you then asking for me to help. So I brought you here." I tell her.

"Thank you." She smiles.

"I want to let you know that I swear I never said anything to the council."

"I believe you." She tells me and that makes me feel relieved.

"Alright, I'm back and I have the stuff to help you." Payton comes walking into the room.

Sorry it took me a while to post any chapters the past few days. It's been looooong shifts at my work but thankfully it's starting to die down a little bit so that's more time to post chapters, etc. So again, thanks for the love, patience and understanding. Enjoy the chapter. :):)
