EVANORA
The dinner was great and talking to the young woman seemed to be not as awkward as I had thought it was going to be.
"So, are you able to help me out?" I asked.
"Yes I can but it's very dangerous." She says. "I haven't done it for years because of how dangerous it is and to do on you, I'm not so sure." She says.
"But I want you to. I need for you to. I've been having nightmares about how bad this can get." I begin telling her. "I didn't ask for this to happen to me. Please..." I begin to beg.
She looks at me with sympathy in her eyes.
"Are you sure?" She asks me one more time.
"Yes. I can't risk having happen what I've seen." I tell her.
I notice then out the corner of my eye, Caspian and everyone else looking at me curious.
"I understand." She says.
"Wait, what's the risk of this hurting and killing her? What are the odds?" Caspian asks.
"Don't worry, she's real strong. Stronger than most. It'll be okay. Besides, this will be better than having LaVarkin getting a hold of her. He's far more powerful than you could think. You already know that he's the leader of the underworld's son but he is far more deceitful than his father." She begins.
"What do you mean? That can't be true." I tell her.
"It is. You see, I know his father very well. I met him fifty years ago for the first time. He tricked me and made me believe something that turned out to be untrue. He then began entering my dreams and took away something very special from me." She says while looking down at her plate.
"What was that?" I ask.
"He took away something that meant more to me than my powers. He took my son." She says.
"What do you mean? He killed him?" Caspian asks.
"Worse. He took him and raised him as his own." She says.
We all look at one another for a moment trying to wrap our heads around what she just said but it couldn't be.
"Are you saying that...." Payton started but stopped as soon as she saw the witch nod her head.
"Yes. LaVarkin is my son." She says.
We were all stunned. How could nobody have ever found out about this?
"How have you kept it from the council finding out?" I asked.
"They know. That's why they banished me forever from being a part of their society along with a few powers I once held. I tried to warn them all throughout the years how powerful LaVarkin can get and what all he could do. But they just ignored me." She states before finishing her wine.
"I'm sorry." I tell her.
"It doesn't matter." She replies. "Anyways, enough about all that, if you really are interested in doing this then you need to prepare."
"What do I need to do?" I ask.
"You need to lay on the couch while I make the serum then, I'll be in there and go over each step." She says.
"Alright." I nod.
The atmosphere suddenly gets more awkward for the first time tonight. Although I am starting to feel a little fear creeping up inside of me. I know the risks in doing this but I also know I need to do this too. I finish the wine in my glass by downing it quickly then she gets up to start leaving into a room located near the kitchen.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Caspian asks.
"I have to." I tell him.
Everyone looks at me and look worried.
"What nightmares have you been having by the way?" He asks me.
"I'll explain later. Right now, I have to mentally prepare for what all I'm about to endure." I tell him. "Promise that you will be right here with me." I ask him.
"Of course." He looks into my eyes and holds my face before leaning in closer and kissing her.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
