CHAPTER 24: I Had To Do It

CASPIAN

I couldn't believe I was about to witness what I was about to. I know it was for the best but I was still curious as to what she had nightmares about and why she didn't tell me about them. 

Right now, it was hard to see her laying on the couch knowing what she was about to go through. But of course, I was going to remain right here beside her. 

"Alright. Close your eyes." The witch begins. 

Evanora closes her eyes while I still hold her hand. 

"Okay." Evanora replies. 

"Now, I want you to go to the darkest place you can think of. I need for you to bring out the demon that's inside of you." She says. 

"What? What if..." I began to protest and Payton told me to be quiet. 

"Caspian, this is the only way this can happen." The witch tells me. 

"There has to be another way." I tell her. 

"Please, let me do this. She will get through it." She assures me. 

I then look back at Evanora who still has her eyes closed. 

"Okay, I'm here." Evanora begins. "It's dark and I see the darkness." 

"Good." The witch states as she starts to remove the cap to the tip of the syringe and continues. "With this serum I remove all evil and darkness from this person. You may no longer bring her harm and may no longer....." She stops. 

"What is it?" I ask her. 

"That's weird." She says.

"What is?" I ask worried. 

"Something isn't right." She says while looking at Evanora. 

"What do you mean?" I asked panicked looking at Evanora also and I am startled as soon as I see her eyes open up and I see her eyes are entirely black. 

She begins squeezing my hand tightly and I can start to feel pain as my bones start cracking. So I break my hand free from her tight grip and look at her scared as she begins sitting up while not blinking as she stares at me and begins speaking in a language I have never heard. 

"Let go!" She yells at Evanora. 

Evanora then next looks over at the witch and next thing we see is the witch being thrown into the air and hitting the concrete wall over by the table and causes her to hit her head real hard almost knocking her out before falling onto the ground. 

Payton starts running over towards her to help her up and while doing that, I look at Evanora who snaps her head back at me. 

"Baby?" I start asking hesitantly. 

She begins grinning at me in a sinister way that starts to terrify me and as I try to walk closer to her, she stops me and without touching me, she starts causing me to levitate and rise off of the floor then I begin feeling a tightening happen around my neck and start struggling for air. 

I have never felt more terrified in my life. I can start to feel myself getting ready to blackout when I finally fall to the ground gasping for air and trying to catch my breath then looking up and seeing her growling a deep gutteral and evil growl while struggling beneath the grasp of my Beta who is pinning her down to the couch again and I notice the syringe and as much as I hate what I'm about to do, I know I have to do it. So I grab it and jam it in the side of her neck. 

The scream I hear from her breaks my heart but I know I had to do it.
