CHAPTER 19: I Hope I Know What I'm Doing

"How could you be so selfish and stupid?!" Payton snaps at me right after Caspian storms out of the shop and his guys head outside to wait for us while we talk. 

"Payton I'm not...." I start to try and explain while trying not to snap at her. "Plus, aren't you the one being selfish right now?! I could hurt not only you but other innocent people. And for the first time in my life, I feel hopeless." I tell her while fighting back tears. 

"We can fight this. We can figure out...." Payton began to argue until I stopped her 

I know she's pissed and feels hurt but we have run out of options. And if I ever plan to have any future or type of relationship with Caspian, if he still wants me, I have to risk everything. I mean, if you don't take risks sometimes, how can you ever really gain anything, right?

"Well, I'm not going to watch you die so if you go to her, I won't follow." She says fighting back tears. 

I go in to give her a hug and then she hugs me tightly as if it's our last. 

"I love you Payton." I tell her. 

"I love you too." She cries. 

She next pushes me away and I can hear her cry even more. then when I walk outside, I see Beta, Delta and the others all look up at me. 

"You're going aren't you?" Beta says. 

"Yes. I don't want anything to happen to any of you because of me. If so, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I love you guys and Alpha Caspian and I know he won't understand any of this. He needs time and I don't have much of that at the moment. I'm sorry." I tell them before walking back into the shop and gathering up all the syringes of stuff I need that'll help keep the demon part at bay. 

The great thing about being a witch like me though and being able to have the knowledge of all spells and knowing how to do them is, I never have to worry about money or packing heavy. I have what we like to call the 'bottomless purse.' You can pack with whatever how much ever and it feels light. 

So I grab my bag and put on the hooded deep purple cloak my mother left for me and that I've been wearing and call to reserve a seat at the airport before calling for a cab to come get me. 

Yes I could always fly on a broom but, I wanted to rest on my way there and you can't on a broom. 

Although I don't remember much about what had happened when the demon in me took over, but I knew I had to finally do something when I noticed I had hurt Caspian and his men, along with Payton. Not to mention I destroyed our shop a lot. 

I never felt or saw it coming, it suddenly hit me without warning. Hopefully in the end, after all of this, I hope this witch doctor can help me.

The soonest I was able to get a flight was in two hours from when I had called and reserved my seat. 

I didn't mind waiting though. It gave me a chance to think about some things. 

Maybe most people would be upset with their parents after finding out if they were given or cursed with is more like it, with something I have such as demon DNA. But it wasn't their fault and they did try to protect me up until the day they died. I miss them terribly. 

Finally I hear somebody's voice over the speakers announce that my row is now boarding. so I get up and grab my bag then start walking towards the line of people. 

There was a little girl in front of me holding her mom's hand and looked back at me and smiled. She had to have been around the age of six. 

"I love your coat." She says. 

"Thank you. Actually it's a clock. My mother made it for me." I tell her. 

"Mommy, I want one." She whines to her mom. 

"Honey shh. Not now." She tells her as the line begins to move and we hand our tickets to one of the ladies at the entryway. 

Once I step onto the plane I can feel everybody's eyes are on me. It reminds me why I hate to fly, especially in coach, but First Class was already booked up so....

I was lucky enough to get a seat by the window and started looking out it waiting to watch us start to take off. That's my favorite part and the only exciting thing about the entire plane rides. Well and when we land too. 

I really did hope I was doing the right thing.....
