Chapter Ten

Marissa's P.O.V

I rushed out of the water to pick the phone up. Thank goodness Cristal brought it for me. No it wasn't Britney. It was Regina. Big surprise.

'Hey there girlfriend. You would not believe what happened with Britney. I would tell you but that's not my story to tell so you're gonna have to wait till she calls. We're gonna be gone a few more days so hold the fort down ok." Her audacity as she belted instructions at me.

"B-word you are not here. Don't tell me what to do." I then proceeded to tell her everything that had happened between Chris and I. I told her to let the others know. I always had problems with relationships. They were so complicated. He was supposed to be my mate right? So we shouldn't have a problem with maintaining a relationship. I put the phone down and went back into the water. Who knew I was going to be lectured.

Cristal's P.O.V

"Marissa, you do realise we need to talk right?" This girl didn't even respond. She just nodded her head. It was time for me to teach her about having a mate.

"You are one with your mate. You need to realise this. Even before you're marked. You will feel a little hint of his pain and vice versa. Naturally, he will mark you. After which you got to sleep with him to seal the deal. Pushing your mate away only hurts your wolf. This is especially dangerous. Our wolves are fairly weak. In 'human form' we are stronger than a normal wolf but 'wolf form' we can be stronger. You don't want to weaken your wolf. You are starving your wolf of nurture. Your wolf has to grow. If you keep doing this you will push him to do something he will regret. This I promise you ok."

She lift her hand up. "B-word, thanks for the advice but I need to think things through and I need to make sure my family isn't shunned from the pack ok."

Oh no she didn't. Why couldn't she see we were trying to help her. We were all rooting for Chris. I only ever met him once and he was pretty chill. I would need to meet him and talk to him about this situation. But I was gonna try once more. "Marissa, Dylan and I had a lot of problems. He marked me by force. I regret it. He regrets it. Just be careful before his animal or yours takes control." With that I waded out of the water. I called out to them to inform them that'd I meet them at the house. I dried my skin the best I could and threw some dry clothes on. I just walked in the woods. Because that's pretty normal. While walking I saw Zack. He was sweating. He had probably just finished his patrol.

"Zack!!!! I need a favor." I called him.

"Beta Cristal, anything." he bowed his head.

"I need to meet with Chris. He is a hybrid right?" I kinda asked I guess.

"Uhhhh yeah but Beta if you don't mind me asking what about. Also he is a great guy so I doubt he would have been in any trouble." It was kinda refreshing that he was picking up for the hybrid.

"Ha ha oh no he isn't. Just tell him to meet me please ASAP. It's about a girl. He will know." I said while walking off.

Within ten minutes of reaching home Chris pulled up with someone in his car and both guys hopped out.

"Hey there Cristal right? This is my bro Crawford!" he said smiling. Both of them seemed so happy. I knew deep down he was hurting.

"Ok so let me just say it all. Don't interrupt me ok. Marissa has a hard time trusting people. She has always been lead to believe that she needs to make her family proud. You need to push past that. And know that everyone here is rooting for you. Ok!" I said sternly.

"Hey that's great! They love you already bro!" Crawford exclaimed.

"Oh yeah and you're both invited for dinner tomorrow night. Be here for seven. Marissa likes white roses." I looked at him.

"Yeah ok sure. Thanks for the help," he beamed.

With our help she was gonna be happy. I don't care what happened. She deserved it.

Britney's P.O.V

What I saw made my jaw drop. My heart probably stopped beating for a minute or two. You gotta be kidding me. This idiot.
