I fell for the Hybrid.

Chapter Nineteen

Britney's P.O.V

As I ran through the woods, I cleared my mind as best as I possibly could. My bloodline was strong. I t made us really stubborn and more aggressive as usual. I couldn't lose my cool now. As I was running, I'd gotten the feeling as though I was being followed so I kept on running, taking myself further away from the houses and close to the boundaries. I could run to Alpha Stephen's pack which was a few miles away. My thoughts were interrupted when Yasmin called out to me. I was too far away to do anything about it. Great. Just great. I'm such a good leader.

 "Marissa!! Goo to Yasmin's aid. My previous command is now void!!" I yelled at her. 

"Good God! Where are you? What's going on?" she questioned me.

"I'llbe back in some time. You're in charge." And with that I cut the link. After some time a pain shot through my head. Evidently I'd lost two warriors. You see the thing is I'd been withholding information from my pack. I knew I shouldn't have hid. I had to do it. No one could compel me. I was a powerful Alpha after all. 

Marissa's P.O.V

I'd received my orders and went to aid Yasmin but I feared I was too late. At least I could save Courtney. Now that the mating was complete, we were a part of each other. He and I shared our mind link, like this he could know who was saying what. That way in battle he'd be able to know our strategies and help however he can. I went in to "Beta Mode".

"Chris, contact Duncan and Chace. Courtney is in trouble. Regina and Cristal, sniff Courtney out, she's in trouble. Yasmin and Nash are dead. Wolf form . No mistakes. I'm in charge. Apha's orders." I ordered through the mind link.  

By the time we had gotten there the Gammas were there. I spotted Duncan's wolf trying to defend Courtney. She was sprawled out on the ground with blood dripping.

"Betas, our mission is to get Courtney out of here. That is the top priority!" She laid about thirty feet away from me. When out of nowhere a vampire came out in front of me. Chris quickly tackled him. John, I believe it was in human form took Courtney into his arms to carry her back to the pack house. Even as a wolf Duncan looked both upset and worried. I couldn't blame him. If anything happened to Chris I'd be so... UGH. I can't even describe it. 

Within an hour or so we'd reached the pack house, and set up a make-shift hospital room. Courtney had been in there with the pack doctor. There was no news about her. to make matters worse there was no word from Britney either. Things were quiet until a muddy, bloody Duncan made his way through the door inquiring about Courtney. 

"Calm down, mate. She's gonna be just fine." John stated.

"Calm? Don't tell me to calm down. Oh God. I should have left that meeting and gone with them." He broke down. Chace, on the other hand, looked as though he could take the world on right now. 

Maintaining his composure he said, "John get Duncan out of here. To the Dalton pack I offer my sincere condolences. The bodies have been found and taken to the morgue where they will be cleaned and your Alpha decides what to do. Speaking of which where is Alpha Adam?"

"Oh you mean the one who abandoned us?" I asked.

"Yes! Him." He scowled.

"Off in his own world with his mate. He isn't responsible for us." I replied coolly.

"And my mate.." He trailed off.

'Alpha Britney is your mate?" I opened my eyes in surprise.

"Um yeah!" he looked at the ground and scratched behind his head.

"She left to visit an Alpha. She hasn't sent any word yet and she doesn't want to be disturbed. That was her instructions."

"Why would she do that? And I'll only ask once. Which Alpha did she visit? He looked pissed.

"Probably Alpha Stephen's." He was pissed considering there was a hole in the wall.

We all sat outside the room. Chris brought coffee for all of us, which was sweet of him.

'so as we all know, Nash and Yasmin are not here anymore. They're dead." We were all in tears.

"Well duh! We figured  as much since it felt as though our heads were splitting apart!" 

"Regina! You need to calm down!" Cristal shouted.

"Calm down! Don't effing tell me to calm down. *sticks hand out at Chris* Noffence Chris. Hybrids killed Nash and Yasmin and vampires attacked us. Injured Courtney. Our Alphas have abandoned us. You don't fucking tell me to calm down."

'Regina. Sit down now!" I ordered. The doctor stepped out. 

'She's good. Just blood loss. He wounds have begun to heal. She'll come out when she's ready,' the doctor left.

"As I was saying we need to get rid of our Alphas."

"REGINA! NO!" 

"You all know nothing." We looked up to a disheveled Courtney clutching her side.Cristal rushed to her side." Courtney, you need to get back. Go and rest NOW!"

"No! Britney is our friend and Alpha. She always helps us. Regina, Britney has information about something she wouldn't even tell me about. Give her a break. Do you not see what's happening? She found out that Chace was her mate a while back but she chose to 'mask' her scent cause a mate will  only slow her down so before you talk shit, know what you're saying.

"Court, you've dealt with a lot today. C'mon I'll help you," Cristal kindly spoke to  her.

This was a lot to take in right now. I silently hope that it would all be alright as I cuddled into Chris.

Interview:

Reggie: So today I'm gonna be leading this interview along with my lessors, Courtney and Marissa.

Courtney: I will bite you.

Marissa: I am bae. Calm down. And welcome to the Alpha jerk, Chace -applause-

Chace: I don't appreciate that tone of voice.

Courtney: *while gripping her side* Cause of you she ran away.

Regina: Back to the interview.

               What do you make of these revelations? 

Chace: Well we were attacked by hybrids and vampires. You lost 2 members. The rest is classified. Your Alpha is an idiot.

Marissa: Um excuse me a-hole?

Chace: Adam! Britney is just troubling... I don't know anymore.

Courtney: Before we go. this is for you, Chace. If you hurt her I'd end you happily. Ok. Now we can sign off.
