Chapter Seventeen

Marissa's P.O.V

It was done. I licked my lips wiping any blood away. My wolf started to surface so I quickly put her back into her 'cage'. This wasn't the time to lose control any further. What was done was done. There was no going back. I didn't regret it but I'd hope that this wouldn't have happened this way. I'd always wanted my marking to be more romantic.

What if he was upset? Usually, the guy marks the girl but I just didn't know anymore. Being a high ranking pack member meant that I did have the power to claim my territory. For it to be completed, we'd have to 'do the deed' and he'd have to bite me as well. I really wanted to know what was going on in his head but the link wasn't complete.

Chris' P.O.V

Whaaaaat thee freeeeeaaakk? She bit me? Why would she do that? I felt her extended canines pierce my  neck, drawing blood. What would her mark look like? All these questions riddled my mind. this side of her I quite liked. I t wasn't her usual dominant side. This one was unpredictable and wild and sexy and damn. The thoughts running through my mind were uncertainly not decent or honourable. After she licked her soft lips, she stepped back and just looked at me. I could tell by the look on her face she was over thinking yet again.

"Well I'm a beta it'll heal in a day or two," she said softly, while stroking where she had bitten.This was the closest we'd ever been without fighting. This was the sweetest she had ever been to me.

'I'm sorry," she said , tears filling her eyes, "I was afraid. Now i see. I've come to realise how much I need you. I love you Christian Collins." I wiped her tears away.

"Babe, there is no need to be like that because I love you. I'd do anything you wanted me to. I respect your position as Beta. Everything will be okay. I've learned to 'hide' my aura per se.  I could totally meet your parents and live. I'd love to introduce you to my parents  but..." I trailed off while cupping her face. I looked up at the sky and began "Mom! Dad! This is Marissa, your daughter-in-law, my mate ,  my love, my life." She giggled and buried her face in my chest.

"Well look at us. Aren't we perfect?" she wrapped her arms around me and I did the same. Only tighter. "No, you're perfect." I could sense the smile on her lips as those words left my mouth.

Yasmin's P.O.V

I sat outside cuddling with Nash. Courtney sat directly opposite me. Though her mate being a Beta was in the meeting, Britney and the Betas blocked us out. We had no way to know what was going on. Best case scenario was that we all have to leave except Marissa. She'd be kept prisoner. Worst case scenario was that a war would break out. Either way it looked grim. Being a part of such a great pack meant that word spread quickly like rapid fire. Adam and his mate  was no where to be found. What kind of alpha was he? Leaving his sister like that? For now, it was agreed that all would remain on the down low. If parents were to be involved then hell would certainly break loose.

"Hey Lover!" Courtney yelled making me snap out of my thoughts. I glared at her. "Duncan said it doesn't look too good. No decision has been reached. Britney isn't saying anything whilst Chace is shouting at her. Doesn't make any sense to me. She's probably phased out or is just gonna rip his head off. Just thought you should know."Something was amiss. So grabbing Nash's hand I went on a walk taking Courtney's lazy ass along with me.

Cristal's P.OV

Everyone was shouting at each other until Chace calmed them down. Britney sat at one end and he at the other. Dylan held me tightly. I know he was nervous. I f a fight were to break out Britney would order us to run. Chace's voice boomed, ' I let your FUCKING pack come into my territory and you try to hurt a human? You aren't the high and mighty ones when you're here you are under my command. Do you understand this? Britney?" he said. His face was mere inches from hers. All along  she was fazed but now her eyes were pitch black. In one quick motion she got up and flung him across the room. Slowly, she stepped towards him. He was fighting his wolf back. His eyes were pitch black. "No one move. Get up Chace. I am the Alpha of my pack. I am an heir to the Dalton empire per se. You don't speak to me in such a tone. I take full responsibility but what I won't take is your STINK FUCKING ATTITUDE."

"I will kill you for undermining my authority. Mate or not. I won't hesitate to kill you." With that she stormed out of the room. The mental block she had up was now down. We saw everything she did. Heard everything she said. We knew very well not to follow her. What really did catch us was what she said to Chace. Could they really be?

Britney: Okay. Where do you think this book is going?

Courtney: Well I have no idea. All I can say is that my mate and I can't die. We're too hot.

*Regina makes an appearance* 

Regina: Here I am. Hold the applause.

Courtney: Oh please, Can you just get out? THis is my interview.

Regina: I am loved. I'm the Queen.

Courtney: Yeah Queen Bee.

Britney: Well that's all for today folks.
