I spent the entire way to the cafeteria dodging dirty looks, and people's snarls. To be honest I really enjoyed it. I was getting under the Lympy's skins, and it felt great. I slipped into our table and pulled out my lunch from my bag. "Why hello," I turned to see Kimon Zyx, my gay best friend. He was dark-skinned and had unruly black hair. His grey-white eyes were boring into me, "So are the rumors true?" He asked as he adjusted his long black coat. "What rumors?" I said sarcastically. "Oh stop!" Sabrina cried, "Did you beat the Sparky or not?" I laughed, "Maybe," Raven appeared right as I said it, "You beat him!" Cedric whisper-yelled. I nodded with a sarcastic smile. "Hey, Alyx?" A green-skinned, green-haired, green-eyed nymph slipped into the seat next to me. "Yes Semestra, it's true," I confirmed it before she asked. "This is awesome," Draco said wistfully, "Now you have to compete in the tournament," I jumped, "What?!" my Irish accent began to shine through. "You were thinking about it," Alice added. I gave her a look, and she smirked at me. Why did all of the children of Hecate have to be little sly foxes, myself included. "I'm gonna enter," Raven announced, "I probably won't win, but Alyx you definitely could." I grimaced, "Guys if I enter now, everyone's gonna try to beat me up, well the Lympies will, and definitely that Sparky." Kimon threw his hands up, "Didn't that Asher kid try to beat you up anyway?" Kimon tilted his head in question. "Yeah, he did," I sighed in defeat, "Guys I don't know." "Well, I do!" Kimon and Cedric said at the same time and gave each other a confused look. "You have to enter," Draco interrupted, as he gave a side-eye to Cedric and Kimon. "Yes, absolutely!" Raven chimed. "I agree," Semestra said with a mouthful of salad. "Fine!" I threw my hands up, "I give up! I'll do it!" I got up and began to walk towards the table with the sign-up sheet, Raven took off from the table and landed next to me as I wrote my name down. "I can't believe how many surprised and dirty looks we're getting." She whispered. "Let me guess, surprised looks from Minor Tiers, and Creature Tiers. Dirty looks from Lympys and Tops?" I guessed. Raven laughed, "Bingo" I smirked as we headed back, everyone at our table was grinning ear to ear. "Stop gawking, you look like dorks." I glowered. " They all started laughing.

School was really boring after that. I did my assignments, turned them in, and gave some dirty looks at the Lympys. Work was up next. I work at a Hecate owned coffee shop. We sell coffee with magic influences, like focus, confidence and good luck. I stepped into the shop, Semestra was already there making a romance blend. I stepped behind the counter and pulled on a Starbucks apron over my jacket. We had to look like a Starbucks to avoid suspicions with regular mortals. "Hey," Semestra said in greeting. I smiled back. She worked at the cashier, while I made the coffee. Tons of regular mortals came in, I could read them to make sure they got the right magical influences. "Excuse me!" someone yelled angrily. I whirled around from the cappuccino machine to see, you guessed it, Sparky. "I asked for a Focus blend, and I'm going to get a focus blend!" Semestra kept shrinking away from him, "I'm sorry we're out of Focus components," She squeaked. "Hey!" I cried stepping next to her and looked him in the eyes. He was very surprised to see me. His bright blue eyes darkened when he realized I was the one who beat him up. "Listen Sparky," I growled, "We are out of Focus components, so order something else, or I'll ban you from this establishment." I smiled a fake smile, "Mmkay?" He bared his teeth at me. He sighed in defeat, "I'll have Good Luck," He choked. I smiled again, "Thanks," He turned and walked to his table with the rest of the Sparkys, Skeletons, and Squids. A maniacal grin spread across my face. "Oh God Alyx, no" Semestra warned, "We'll get in so much trouble!" I shook my head, "We won't, he broke the rules of hospitality in a Witch's shop, we can do whatever we want." Semestra looked skeptical, "Fine, but I don't want to do it," I chuckled, "I wanted to do it from the beginning don't worry." Right before I turned around to make the coffee a girl with blonde hair and a pretty face came up to the counter. "Hey," she said quietly, "I will pay you extra to mess up his coffee," I gave her an impressed yet confused look, "Who are you?" I asked. "Oh sorry!" She apologized, "I'm Bella, a daughter of Aphrodite." That actually made me feel better a daughter of Aphrodite was on my side. "There's no need to pay us, we're gonna do it anyway," I said quietly. Bella smiled, "Well here's an extra tip," she put a ten-dollar bill in the tip jar. I gawked at it. "What? You deserve it." She stated as she walked back to her table. "I like her," Semestra said as she returned to the cashier. I strode over to the shelf and counter with all the components. My mother was quite generous and had given us many negative influences. I giggled with delight as poured a ton of negative effects into Colson's coffee. "You're a dork," Semestra commented. "Yeah, yeah," I replied. The funny thing about negative influences is that they taste really good, makes it easy to ruin coffee. He was going to enjoy the coffee but not the side effects. I walked over to the pick-up counter, "Oi, Sparky!" I called as I lifted up his coffee then placed it on the counter. My old Irish accent shown through in the Oi. He snarled at me as he came to pick up the coffee, and I glowered back. I smirked a maniacal smirk at Semestra as she rolled her eyes at me. "Again," she chuckled, "You're a dork," I laughed, "Oh whatever." We kept working no one did anything interesting, hopefully, they were scared of me, hopefully. "See ya Semestra," I called as I stepped out of the store. She waved her goodbyes. "Hey!" An angry voice yelled. It was definitely Colson. I turned around to see him stomping towards me. "Sparky," I said with a fake smile and raised eyebrows. "My name is Colson, and you know it!" He yelled. I tilted my head, "That's not why you're here yelling at me right now." I stated. "You put crap in my coffee," He cried., "You are going to be fired for this!" I rolled my eyes and started laughing, "No I won't, this must be your first time dealing with witches." He narrowed his eyes, "You're not a witch." I rolled my eyes again, "All daughters of Hecate are witches, I won't get fired because you broke the rules of hospitality," I shoved past him, "By the way," I turned around to give him a dark smirk, "I'll see you in the tournament," His eyes widened, and he ran his hands threw his golden hair, "You didn't" I rolled my eyes yet again, "I did, and I'm going to win," He clenched his teeth, as I turned around and strode off. "Don't think you'll beat me twice!" he called. I smirked, "Oh I think I will!" I yelled back. I started heading back to the dorms. They were pretty nice, I really just which I could share my dorm with my other siblings, but all their mortal parents actually cared about them. My father only cared about me when the press was looking. Brennan Sullivan, the famed movie star, is a single dad and is handling it really well, was a lie the press liked and made him look really good. It's always nice when the press ambushes me at work and ask how I feel about my father. If I told them the truth I'd risk a beating from my father, they think I'm a girl who goes to boarding school for gifted children (which wasn't exactly wrong) and I love my father and resent my mother. I've met my mom once, and I have a better relationship with her than my dad. I plopped down on my bed, the six others were dusty and neatly made. Mine was in stark contrast, it was messy and covered in jars and books. I grabbed a jar full of purple stones and dumped some of them into a side pocket. Amethyst was my magic assignment, we probably were learning about purifying stuff, but we'll see. There was a sudden buzzing from my bag, it turned out to be my phone. On the screen, it said Crapweasal AKA, my father. I put it back down, he probably wanted to bring me to New York to make him look good. It kept ringing, and it kept ringing. Eventually, it turned into a text message. I actually looked at that. "Answer me," was all it said. I groaned and called him, "What?" I growled into the phone. "I'm bringing you out to New York this weekend," a deep voice with a heavy Irish accent came through the phone. I glared into empty space, "No I'm not," I countered angrily, "Yes you are!" he growled back. "Well it's too bad mortals can't come to GHS, then maybe you could drag me to New York," I said sarcastically. "Listen here lassy!" I groaned internally at the stereotypical Irish slang. Luckily my accent only shined through when I had strong emotions. "Listen here daddy" I retorted, "I don't want to lie to the press for you, you're a terrible father, and I don't know what Mom saw in you!" I yelled and hung up the phone. I buried my face in my hands, how did I get stuck with a dad like him? There was a sudden knock on my window, I turned around to see Raven perched on the window sill, her black and white wings were shedding feathers on the ledge. Raven gave me a reassuring look as I opened the window to let her in. "Kimon's on the ground let me get him," She said before she jumped down. I leaned over to see, Raven, grabbing Kimon from under the arms and drag him up. "Hello, badass," Kimon said as he climbed in. "Hello to you too," I said, but my voice sounded exasperated and sad. Kimon and Raven sat on my bed with me. "Is your dad being an Ahole?" Kimon asked. I nodded. "Is he trying to bring you to New York?" Raven asked. "Yes, and told him off." I added, and their eyes widened. It made sense, I always said my dad had complete power over me. I guess not. "Can you guys come to work with me for the next couple of days?" I asked. I didn't want him to show up and drag me on a plane. Kimon smiled, "Of course," He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug. Raven wrapped her wings around us and said, "I'll come too,"
