Colson was on the other side of the room sitting in the Quest leader seat. Cas was next to him, Kyna next to Cas, David next to Kyna, and me next to David. It was stiffly silent as we waited for Chiron to return with the Oracle. "Sooooooo," Cas broke the silence, and both Colson and I jumped. "How was everyone's recovery?" He asked. Kyna wrapped a bandaged arm around her ribs and bristled slightly but didn't say anything. David held up his braced wrist, "We're all good here." Cas patted his sling, "I only had a messed up shoulder and some scratches," He pointed to some stitches on his face. I smirked slightly the dull ache still persisting on the back of my head, "My injuries are mostly using my magic too much, I do have bandages on my ribs and back, but I don't know what they're for," I rubbed the back of my neck after giving my status report. Colson leaned closer as I talked and I saw something clouding his sky blue eyes. I looked away when we made eye contact. He caught me staring at him staring. I could feel my cheeks flush. Kyna David and Cas all shared a glance but didn't say anything. "Kyna, what's your status?" I asked quickly, cutting the tension. She pursed her lips, "It's a little extensive." I raised my eyebrows at her egging her on. "I fractured some ribs, their mostly healed. I have scratches everywhere, my arm is stitched up, but it's going to scar. I had a mild concussion but that's gone now," She looked at the floor when she finished. "You're right, extensive," I chuckled to lighten it up. She smirked back. "Don't worry, I'll heal you faster later," I leaned in and whispered to her. Kyna rolled her eyes, "Thanks." I winked at her just as the door opened and Chiron trotted in. The skinny Oracle was on his back as he came in. "Hello everyone!" She said with a chipper voice and slid off the Centaur's back. "You all look great," Chiron commented sarcastically as he stopped in front of the table and The Oracle sat next to him. "Thanks, fighting a titan is great for the skin," Kyna sassed back. "Glad to see your humor is still intact, unlike your ribs," Colson murmured and Kyna flipped him the finger with a straight face. "Well! As you've all experienced-" The Oracle jumped up, "-Kronos is returning! I had the vision yesterday!" She slammed a scroll onto the table with vigor. "You all have prevented a great part of his plan, but your quest isn't over yet!" She unrolled the scroll. "Great," Colson growled quietly and I snorted. He didn't return my laugh, he only looked away. I glared at the back of his head as The Oracle continued talking, "Typhon was freed by a god," She turned the scroll around, "I saw a vague picture of which god, but I cannot be sure which." Shit, I thought. We had to fight a mystery god, fantastic! "I think they are a minor god, still very formidable," The Oracle rambled. "But for now," Chiron interrupted The Oracle, "We want you all to relax and heal. We wanted to warn you all, let you all know your quest isn't over. I didn't want to lie to you," Chiron put his hands on the shoulder of The Oracle with a grave look. "Like we're going to relax now," David commented with a bite in his tone. Chiron chuckled, "Would you rather I lied and sprung it on you with no warning my young Cyclops?" He asked. "Touché," David replied. The Oracle clapped her hands with a widespread grin, "You all should get ready for your dance! Hopefully, you still have time to ask someone!" She was very excited. Was she even going? I smiled weakly and stood up, ignoring the pain in my head. "Come on Kyna," I gestured out of the room. Kyna got up and looked at Cas quickly. She wasn't saying something. "No, Alyx," Colson stood up. "Excuse me?" I turned quickly and struggled to hide my wince. "No more magic for a while," He clarified as if I didn't know what he meant. "No, I know, but," I put my hands on my hips, "That's the first thing you've said to me since I woke up from a magic fatigue coma." My upper lip curled up revealing my fangs, "The first thing, was an order," I laughed fakely, "Fancy that." Colson bristled and widened his eyes. "Alyx," Kyna touched my shoulder, "He's right, I promise I'm not defending him, but I'll be fine, we'll all be fine, ok?" She smiled and her eyes said more behind her words. "Fine," I glared at Colson before leaving without another word. I collapsed on my bed the minute I entered my dorm. I was being stupid. He kissed me though. Did that really mean anything, or was it another Top ploy to make me feel like a worthless Minor? A sudden feeling of shame washed over me at the last thought. If that was the case I had fell for it. I rolled over and pressed my face into the bed, but I didn't cry though. I refused to cry. My phone buzzed and I wrestled it out of my back pocket. "Bella and I are coming, you can't stop us. You will sit still and let us beautify you," Kimon had texted.
