We were led out of the building back to the amphitheater to say our farewells and cry with our friends. We were just about to step out of the building when Chiron stopped us. "We have invited your parents and most have shown up!" Chiron explained. "Our godly parents!?" We all asked excitedly. Chiron gave us a pitied look, "I'm sorry, I meant your mortal parents." We all slackened, me especially. I had a better chance of Hecate to show up than my father.  Everyone else smiled slightly when the doors opened and they saw the smiling faces of their mortal parents waiting for them. I smiled brightly though when I saw my siblings, Raven, Semestra, and Kimon. I ran to them and was crushed by all of their hugs. This was much better than whatever my father could have brought. "You're going on a quest!" Sabrina and Draco said together excitedly.  I laughed, "Apparently so," I replied hardly believing it myself, I was going on a quest. "I'm so proud," Kimon gushed sarcastically and wiped a fake tear from his right eye. I smiled and laughed. Semestra wrapped her arms around me, "Be careful ok," She whispered in my ear. I wrapped my arms around her Alice and Raven joined as I whispered back, "I will." We shared a final hug before they all had to leave. I saw Cas and Colson hug their moms and friends goodbye tearfully. Kyna hugged her dad and kissed him on the cheek before he left. I watched as two older and 7' tall Cyclopses tackle David and bid him farewell with a couple of punches. "Alyxandra," A deep Irish accented voice interceded the tearful goodbyes. I stiffened and turned around slowly. To my damn surprise, Brennan was here looking at me emotionlessly. I backed away with wide eyes and shallow breaths. I watched as Kyna David Cas and Colson moved towards me. "Get away from me," My accent shown through in my panic. "Relax," He waved his hand in dismissal, "I'm only here to send you off." "No, you're not," My Irish voice was filled with panic. "Alyx," Brennan took a step towards me while I took a step back. "You had your chance," Colson growled as Kyna drew her dagger in a reverse hold. "Alyx I'm trying to be a good father," He said but the truth was in the bite of his voice and his eyes. "No! you're not," I repeated while shaking my head, "This is just another story for the press." I growled then continued in a fake voice, "I can see the headline now, Misguided father patches things up with his daughter the heartfelt story of the famous Brennan Sullivan and his teenager." Brennan bared his teeth.

"Brennan,"                                                                                                                                                                                 A shivery yet clear female voice interrupted our glaring match, "Leave our daughter alone, I can't believe someone like you captured my heart and this amazing witch," I turned around to see a pitch black-skinned woman with bright blue eyes with silver lightning and cat pupils like mine, a slender frame, dark blue hair that brushed her chin, and an angry glare directed at my father. "Mom?" I breathed, as Kyna Cas David and Colson said, "Hecate?"  She smiled pointed fangs, just like mine, at us all, "Yes children." "As I was saying," She moved lithely the black fabric coming from her silver breastplate flowed around her. She grabbed my father's chin angrily, "You will leave my daughter alone," She growled. Brennan moved away, "She is my daughter too," He snapped back. I stared dumbfounded as my mother continued. "Not as I'm concerned you caused her unnecessary pain something a father never should cause for a daughter, I will let you come near her when you are ready to be a father." She spat at my father then turned to me. Her smile was intended to be mothery but the pointed teeth killed it. "I'm quite proud of you Alyx Sullivan." Hecate turned to my quest mates, "Do not be jealous of your quest mate, your parents are waiting for the right time." I turned to see all of my quest mates' eyes fall to the ground in embarrassment. Having your true emotions not the ones you show revealed is not a fun thing, I know from experience.  Hecate disappeared in a burst of the black mist of her divine magic. Brennan stumbled away from us and into the darkness of the late night. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "What the" Cas said to himself. I shuddered and took another deep breath. "Is he gone?" I asked shaking. "Yes, thankfully," Kyna said. "How long have you had to deal with that?" Cas asked. "Awhile," I replied simply. Colson changed the subject thankfully, "Chiron is it time for us to start the questing," it was very awkward the way he said it.

Sorry for the shorter chapter it's better than forced dialogue I promise
