Colson smiled at me as we resumed walking to the forge. I didn't return it. "Hey," He jogged a little faster so we were walking next to each other in the back of our procession. "You did good, but I'm surprised Poseidon didn't catch on quicker," He said and I gritted my teeth. "If I pulled that trick on you in our sparring match I would've taken you down a lot quicker," I growled, he didn't appreciate that comment. "You can be very arrogant," I added as we came upon the forge's door. He was silent after that. The forge's door opened with a large creek and a blast of heat wafted out of the room, making everyone but the god choke. Kyna was talking her head off to Poseidon about the chains, and their properties, along with what he thought a good plan to use them would be. He was annoyed in the beginning, but I saw his green eyes soften towards the end. The forge was huge. There were anvils and vats of metal and strangely neon fire. We came upon a pair of Cyclops and David hurried to bow to them. The others followed suit, I didn't. "What are you doing?" Colson hissed. "Showing I'm not intimidated," I hissed back as I simply nodded in respect to the Cyclopses. One of them smirked, but the other glared with its single dark eye. "Rise quest members!" The smirking one boomed jokingly and clapped David on the shoulder. "Welcome to the forge!" He smiled broadly, "I hear you all need some Cyclops chains!" The other Cyclops was silent, but when I glared at him a slight smirk began to tug at his lips. "You all have good timing," The smiling Cyclops laughed. "Nothing is a coincidence when it comes to quests brother," The stoic Cyclops commented. "Yeah, yeah," The smiling brother growled. "Just go grab Arges," The stoic brother laughed. "We have just created a new batch of Neptune Steel, the Fates have smiled down on you questers," The stoic brother explained. I rolled my eyes, "The Fates," I scoffed to myself. "Brontes!" A third Cyclops appeared, Arges, with the original smiley brother, "Steropes here says we're making some chains for a Child of Zeus." I scoffed under my breath again, Kyna Cas and David were the ones who found the palace, not Colson. The Cyclops didn't seem to notice. "Yes, sir, we need the chains that you used originally to chain the Titan Typhoon to the volcano," Colson confirmed with a nod. "I see, we shall begin their construction, and let me say, seeing females in here is definitely refreshing," The stoic brother, Brontes, commented. "They won a duel for admission!" Cas said. "Against, Poseidon here?" Steropes jerked a thumb at the tan god. Who, to my delight, was gritting his teeth aggressively. "Impressive," Arges agreed. "You may all return to your quarters, the chains will be ready by the morning," Brontes informed. "You know brother," Arges wrapped an arm around his brother's shoulders, "Why not we have the Cyclops stay and assist us?" David's eyes widened. He looked at Colson for permission. "What are you looking at me for?" Colson asked, "Do it!" David was giddy as Steropes led him to get set up at the forge. I smiled, he was very lucky. He met his father and got to work in his palace. I would kill to work in The Witches Workshop in Hecate's palace. "You all may leave now, I will send your Cyclops with the chains tomorrow morning, if you survive until morning." "What's that supposed to mean," I asked, bite in my voice. Arges laughed, "You're Demigods, I'm surprised monsters haven't shown up to eat you all yet." He was speaking to merrily. "That's a nice thought," Kyna said sarcastically. We made our way out of the palace and up to the surface. They didn't give us a way to the surface, so Cas manipulated the water to take us up in a bubble of air. "So, now we just wait?" Kyna asked the group collectively. "Seems so," Cas replied. We all sat down on the dock, not sure what to do for the rest of the day. It was barely past ten o'clock. "Food," Kyna jumped up suddenly. "What?" Colson asked. "See I was figuring out what we were most likely going to suggest to do next, and food had an eighty-five percent chance of winning." We all looked at her like she was nuts, "That explains everything," I commented sarcastically. "Well, I agree, I want food," Cas stood up. I followed them as Kyna pulled out her phone to find food. Colson fell behind and stood next to me. "What do you want?" I growled quietly. "You're in a good mood," He said. "I'm never in a good mood," I replied. "You seemed to be in a good mood at the dance," Colson pointed out. "I was with friends and was causing damage to all you," I jabbed my finger into his shoulder, "Tops and Lympies' egos." Colson gritted his teeth at my biting comment. "You know if this quest is going to be successful you're going to have to be nice to us." Colson said quietly. "Do I?" I replied, "Don't I just have to cooperate?" I growled. "You aren't doing that either," Colson replied. I rolled my eyes and I felt my hand go to my stomach. I had a rune there. An emotion rune. Why was it flaring up. I caught Colson staring at me. We both flushed and looked away. "FOOD!" Kyna yelled suddenly, "I found some!" She clarified when she saw all of our confused expressions. I nodded, "Lead the way." She brought us to a small resturaunt, free of monsters thankfully. Our anxieties were growing now. We sat down quickly. I shoved myself in the corner as I ate, and they talked. Kyna wasn't talking much either. She was acting a little strange, her stare kept going out of focus and she kept rubbing her temples. Are you ok? My mind voice penetrated her thoughts and she jumped. Yeah, she answered, Just shaken. Understandable, take it easy ok? I replied. "Hey, what are you two doing?" Cas asked when he noticed Kyna and I smirking at each other. "Nothing," I said boredly. "Yeah nothing," Kyna agreed. Cas glared at us, "Then what was with all the smirking?!" I laughed, "A witch never reveals her secrets." Colson frowned and scrunched up his nose, "That's how you both made your plan for you fight with Poseidon," He said. "Yes," I punched him in the shoulder, "I'm surprised you all didn't figure that out sooner." Colson looked at where I touched him with surprise and I rolled my eyes. Kyna snickered at us. "What!?" I asked. She smirked and shook her head, "Nothing." "Right," I narrowed my eyes. She smirked again and Cas looked very confused. Suddenly I sensed something in the air. My friends must have sensed it too, we all jumped up and ran out onto the empty sidewalk. We skidded to a stop when we saw it. A giant woman with a bottom half of a snake, wngs on her back, a giant scimitar, and a glare full of murder and malice. "Kampê," Kyna gasped.
