"Oh thank you!" I said as I put down the box. Alice rushed over and brought me the last present. It was small, like the size of my palm, and I wondered what it was. I opened it up to find a folded piece of cloth. I unfolded it, it was a bandanna. "Uh, thanks Alice." It must be the new style. "It's very nice and... fashionable." She laughed. "It's not fashionable! Put it over your eyes!" I tied it. She helped me up and guided me to the door. She put me in the passenger seat of my truck. "Where are we going?" "You'll see." I heard the chorus of goodbyes before Alice ushered me into a car and hopped into the driver's seat. Time passed, I was so bored that I started to imagine the hundreds of trees zooming by, big green blobs that were everywhere. Alice wouldn't talk in fear of giving away the surprise. Finally we stopped. She led me out. "Surprise!" She yelled, taking off the bandanna. I gasped. "It's... It's..." "Beautiful? Wonderful?" "Expensive!" She laughed. "Of course not, I built it with everyone except you-know-who." "Voldemort?" "No silly, Edward." "Why didn't he help?" "Look behind the second door upstairs and you'll see." I stared at the beautiful wooden cabin, the four clear windows in matching wooden frame, the little chimney on the top. I walked up the porch steps and opened the front door, gasping as I entered. The rooms were all fully decorated! "Come on, up the stairs." Coached Alice. I took one step at a time, my hand trailing on the smooth handrail. I pushes open the first door to find the master bedroom. "How did you get all my stuff here? It was in my room this morning." "Two words. Vampire. Speed." I pushed open the second door and gasped again. Honey coloured wood panelled flooring with two matching closet doors. Sky blue walls with puffy clouds, a rocking chair surrounded by stuffed animals, birds spun over the crib with a lullaby. "It's lovely Alice." I opened the doors to find it fully stocked with baby stuff. "Best baby shower gift ever?" "Definably." The third door was a washroom and the forth a guest room. "So, when are you expecting?" "Any day now." "Then maybe you should have someone over to drive you?" "That's a good idea..." "Maybe you should have me stay over?" "You would do that for me?" She laughed. "Of course!" "Great! When will you come over?" "Right now, I just need to grab my stuff. How about you go explore the house?" Before I could answer, she was gone.

After exploring the house Alice still wasn't back, so I decided to explore the surrounding area. I walked aimlessly through the giant trees, my sneakers damp with the dew. Calm, peaceful. Such underestimated and overused words. But as I listened to the wind through the leaves, the birds calling to one another, the distant trickle of a river, the rustle of animals in the bushes, I knew what the real meaning meant. I knew peacefulness would be rare after the child was born. The crack of a twig snapped me out of the dreamlike trance. I looked to see what animal made the noise and concluded it was a fairly large one once I found the large, broken twig. I continued my walk and wound deeper into the forest. Snap. The noise startled me, was the animal following me? I decided to head back towards the house. One the third twig broke, I whipped around to find the animal. A fox stood there, looking confused and astounded. "Silly, noisy fox! You scare me to death." "Silly, noisy human. I'll bleed you to death." I whipped around to find two hungry red eyes staring at me. "Lau-Lau-Laurent! What are you doing here?" I asked the vampire with dreadlock hair. "Well, I was exploring the area. Pay you all a visit. And I smelt your delicious scent. Ooh, the blood of two in one!" "You can't ki-kill me! The Cu-Cu-Cullens will know. Think of what Ed-Ed-Edward would do to you." "I checked out their crib. No scent there for months. They are outta here. And I doubt you are with Edward when you have that." He gestured my bulging stomach. "They moved!" "Sure they did..." I screamed as he leaped at me.

Jacob's POV

A knock at the door woke me from my nap. "I'll get it," I yelled to my dad as I pulled on a shirt and headed for the front. I opened it to find a dude I've never even met before. "Hello?" "Mr. Jacob Black?" "Yes?" "Here you go." He said, giving me an envelope before leaving. I opened it up to find a letter with elaborate writing.

Jacob,

Just wanted to let you know that I got Bella her own place and thought you should pay a surprise visit.. I would have contacted you personally, but I can't enter your lands, remember? Don't worry, Edward won't be there. There is a map on the back.

Alice.

I looked at the map and decided to go. I could always defend myself if it was a trap, or at least notify Sam before dying. I decided to go the faster way, a.k.a wolf form. Soon I stripped down and put my clothes in a bag. I became a wolf and picked it up before sprinting towards the new house. Being a wolf, it's indescribable. The wind rushing through my fur, the sounds oh so louder, sharper, clearer. As were all my senses. I soon arrived at her home and changed back, which included my clothes. I knocked on the door. No answer. I pushed open the door. "Bella?" I said consciously, sniffing for recent scents. I saw a note on the counter, it had much less neater writing than Alice's. I read the quick note to the vampire saying Bella went for a walk in the woods. It had a messy signature that was definably hers. I went back out and sat on a porch chair to wait for her when I heard a scream pierce through the silent woods.
