Chapter 24: So Many Emotions

I woke up to Olivia shaking me awake, "Come on, let's go to the lake!" I groaned but eventually spoke, "Fine I'm up." She moved away as I sat up. There was a knock on our door. Olivia yelled, "Come in!" The door opened and Colby was in the doorway "Breakfast is ready and were going to the lake in 20 minutes." I nodded and sighed "Thanks Colby." He looked at me for a second. He looked at me sad before walking out. Once he was gone Olivia turned to me, "What is going on between you two." I looked down before answering, "Nothing let's get ready." I jumped up and pulled out my suitcase. I grabbed plain skinny blue jeans and a white tank crop top. I also pulled out one of my swimsuits. I put on my black bikini and then put my clothes over. I brushed my hair and put it in two French braids. I didn't put on makeup only lip balm. I went into the living room. Everyone was either eating or sitting in the living room. My mom was in the kitchen cooking. "Here hunny get some food," she tried handing me a plate but I shook my head. "No thanks mom I'm not hungry," Colby looked at me confused but said nothing. Olivia got up, "Let's go down to the lake!" I found out only Colby, Nate, Olivia, and I were going. I grabbed a small bag and put some necessities in. I also grabbed a towel. I stayed quiet most of the walk and tuned out their conversation. We arrived at the lake and put our stuff down. I pulled off my clothes and noticed Colby and Nate starring. I rolled my eyes. Olivia grabbed my arm, "Let's go paddle boarding!" She pointed to paddle boards on a rack that you could rent. "Alright" I agreed to just do it. We grabbed two paddle board and went into the lake. It was cold at first but we got used to it. Colby took some pictures of us and some of just me later on. It started to get dark and we got hungry so we packed up and headed back to the cabin. On the walk back Colby and I were messing around. We would bump into each other and push each other around. I kinda wish we had brought flash lights cause you could barely see the path. I almost tripped but Colby grabbed me before I could fall, "Are you okay?" I nodded, "Yeah I'm fine thanks Colby." I looked forward and realized Olivia and Nate were really far ahead. When I looked back to Colby our lips connected. We kissed for a moment before pulling away. "I've missed that," Colby said smiling. I nodded slightly, "Yeah... we should go..." "Right" we started walking again. The walk back was silent this time...
