-July, London England-
Hermione waited. Her hands were shaking as they held the flip phone in her hand. She had called them an hour ago, where were they?
Hermione was waiting for her (muggle) best friends in a coffee shop a few blocks from her house.
Hermione had a lot on her mind, her friends, Hogwarts, Voldemort, and the one plaguing her mind most, Draco. She hadn't seen him since she left the platform and she was uneasy, they were supposed to see each other soon, her parents wanted to meet him. They hadn't really set a spot or time, so she hoped he just showed up at one point.
"Hermione!" Hermione turned around and there they were.
"Carrie!" She ran into her best friend since they were five. Carrie and Hermione looked quite alike.
Carrie had the same brown hair only hers was more straight, they had the same eyes and were the same height. They had often been mistaken for twins growing up, and they would dress alike in grade school to confuse the teacher.
"Oh my god I have so much to tell you!"
"Hi Hermione, did you forget about us?" Two voices said in unison.
"Course I didn't! Come here!" Hermione gave the two a hug. "Eddie and Marshall, I haven't seen you two in forever!"
"We miss you too!" Though they weren't twins and looked nothing alike, to compete with Carrie and Hermione they tried to be the exact same for years until they finally gave up. They still like to play with them sometimes and talk in unison or wear the same cloths.
"Sit," Hermione gestured towards the chairs. "So what's new?"
There was an awkward silence before Eddie had to get up and take a call.
"Is it?" Carrie asked and Eddie nodded.
"Who is it?" Hermione asked.
"SHH!" Marshall and Carrie shushed her so she just had to listen in.
"Hello Cody," Hermione knew Cody. He was the elementary school bully, he had teased her about her hair and why she was so short. She had teased her about being good at school even though he had failing grades. Hermione didn't know why Eddie would take a call from him.
Eddie said in his American accent into his phone. "Mhmm [...] Yeah...why? [...] Of course! [...] See you then!" He hung up the phone.
"What did Cody want?" Hermione asked.
Another silence before the long awaited answer.
"He asked me out." Carrie and Marshall cheered, giving him a noogie on the head.
"WAIT I"M MISSING INFORMATION!" Hermione panicked.
"Well we know why Cody was so mean to us in primary school, it's because he like Eddie and neither of them had come out yet. So when Eddie came out last summer, halfway through the year Cody did too and now they're DATING!" Carrie squealed.
Of course! Why hadn't Hermione put it together earlier! She remembered Eddie coming out the summer before and Carrie being excited to dictate his love life, like she had for the rest of them. Carrie must be pretty proud.
"So you achieved your 1/3 of your goal of dictating all of our love lives." Hermione laughed.
Carrie nodded and soon the attention was directed at Hermione again.
"Say, we haven't seen you since last summer, anything romantic going down in Hermione town?" She nudged Hermione.
"Oh, uh, it's kinda complicated." Hermione looked down and blushed.
