-Time skip, to end of 6th year-

How could he. How could her Draco do such a thing??

Hermione hadn't interacted with Draco since the fifth year when they split and it wrenched her heart everyday. She couldn't bare to look at him anymore, for fear she might say something.

Draco missed Hermione so much. He was livid with his father for putting him in a situation like this, enemies? All he wanted to do was be on Hermiones team, but he couldn't even do that. Now she would never forgive him for trying to kill Dumbledore.

---

-Another time skip (sorry) to the Malfoy Manor-

"Draco, dear, do you recognize these ones?" Draco's aunt Bella pointed to 3 teens being held by the snatchers. One was Potter, Weasley, and of course, Granger.

Draco walked up to them, pretending not to recognize them. He examined the boys carefully, but when his eyes met Hermiones, he had to shift away.

"No, I do not."

"I have a feeling this one's a mudblood." Bella grabbed Hermione by her shoulders and thrust her away from the others. "Take the other two downstairs, we have some business to catch up on."

Draco shook as the boys and the snatchers retreated downstairs, and it was only Bella, him and Hermione in the large echoing room.

"I want you to stay Draco, maybe you'll learn a thing or two." Against his will, Draco nodded and choked as Hermione was set down on the cold tile floor and pinned by Bella.

Draco watched as Hermione, in agony, was written on by a knife. It infuriated him, made him want to punch Bellatrix in the face as Hermione had in third year. His ears burned with fury, but before he could kill Bella, she got up off Hermione and sent her to the dungeons, and asked Draco to take her.

Hermione gripped her wound and looked Draco in the eye with shock. He gave her a sympathetic look before grabbing her arm and escorting her downstairs.

He opened the door to the basement and illuminated the way with his wand. Once he was sure they were far enough away from Harry and Ron and from the upstairs, he spoke in a whisper to her.

"Hermione I'm so sorry."

She didn't respond.

"Hermione please let me explain."

Still no response.

"Hermione, I love you to the ends of the universe and you know it. I know you feel the same way, stop being so silent towards me. You know that this wasn't my choice."

She still remained silent.

Draco was fed up, he grabbed her jaw and pulled her lips to his. It was a swirl of happiness and passion as Hermione, gently, kissed back.

When they finally broke, Hermione, in a scratchy voice, said: "I missed you so much."

"I missed you too. I have to get you back, please, if you need help, send me your Patronus and I will find you. Tell Potter and Weasley to summon that house elf, he'll help you escape. Be safe my love."

Hermione knew they couldn't have too many words, so she kissed him once more. It was the most beautiful thing on earth to her.

"Let's get you back." Draco, with one hand on her back, led her to the small dungeon with the clear escape instructions.

He would always have a place in his heart for her. She would always be his other half.

---

-Upstairs-

"The prisoners have escaped." Lord Voldemort boomed through the dining hall Draco had no more fond memories of. "The battle has begun."

"What battle my lord?" Bella asked.

"The battle that will determine it all. The battle, of Hogwarts."

"The battle of Hogwarts?" Draco asked, confused.

"Yes, we will storm them, we have a far larger army than they do. They'll all be dead in seconds."

"When will this take place my lord?" Bella replied.

"May."

"A month?" Bella exclaimed.

"In a month, yes, Harry Potter will have joined the dead in hell."

Draco wanted to scoff, Potter would win for sure, he just had to switch sides during the battle somehow, if he wanted to live. He knew it would be though, but he would do anything for Hermione. He would kill Voldemort for her, although that was Harrys job.

"Be prepared, because war is coming."

-Later that night-

"Draco?" Draco mom knocked on his bedroom door and he shouted at her to come in.

Draco room was very spacious, a giant room for couches, a large bath, and of course a big bed. It was all black green and silver.

"Draco, may I speak to you for a moment?"

His mom closed the giant black doors behind her and motioned to the couches.

Draco hoped off his bed. "Sure mom," he dove into his favorite, one with four pillows instead of three.

His mom sat across from him and started to as the questions.

"Draco I saw you in Ireland." His mom said.

Dracos whole face sunk. His mom knew, she would surly tell his father and then they'd be in trouble..

"And...?" Draco looked down at the carpeted floor.

"And, I want to know who you were with because it sure as heck wasn't Pansy."

"I was with my girlfriend." He admitted.

"Girlfriend? You never told me you were dating a girl?"

"I didn't tell you because she's a Gryffindor, a muggle born." His mom gasped.

"Draco! You know your father hates those people!"

"I love her mom. And, you can relax. We broke up since." His eyes welled with tiny tears as his mom moved to sit next to him. She put her delicate hands on her sons back and rubbed.

"Shhhh," She soothed. "It's ok. I love her if you love her. This'll just be our little secret, ok?"

Draco nodded.

"Now, I'd better go. You get me if you need me."

He nodded again but still refused to look his mother in the eye.

She left without another word and left Draco to spend the night crying over the love of his life.
