Draco and Hermione ended up getting their Hogwarts diploma after the war, there was no need to go back for 8th year for either of them, it was time to start their life together. All that was left to do was for Draco to pop the question.

-Malfoy Manor-

"Morning." Draco shook Hermione awake. She stretched her arms and yawned.

"Morning Dra." She sat up from Dracos bed and kissed his cheek. Draco kissed her full on the mouth and Hermione kissed back.

Hermione and Draco had moved into Malfoy Manor after the war and decided to live there. Dracos father was in Azkaban and his mother was in hiding in Canada, so it was really Dracos manor to use.

Draco told Hermione to get dressed because breakfast was soon and he left the room to go about his normal routine: collect the paper, read it in his study, eat with Hermione, and then go about his day.

Today was special, Draco was going to ask Hermione to marry him.

He was going to ask her at their dinner party that night with Ron, Fay, Harry, Ginny, Blaise, and Pansy (who had grown on the trio after the war).

At breakfast, Hermione walked in wearing a yellow sundress that pulled in at her waist, had a sweetheart neckline, and extended to the top of her knees.

"Good morning you." Draco left his hard-boiled egg behind to stand up and kiss Hermione.

She smiled against his lips and pulled away after a few seconds.

"Morning, what are we doing today?" She took a seat next to his.

"We have that dinner party tonight and I believe we have high tea at Rosés Tea Cafe but I'm not sure."

"No you're right. I can't wait to see Harry and Ron again, it's been a while."

"Three weeks isn't a while," Draco stated.

"Well it kind of is, anyways, I have work for 1 to 5 so I'll be back for the party. You are on call right?"

Draco nodded. After the war, he decided to become a healer. He'd gotten all the necessary credits and had enough experience that St. Mungos had offered him a job at the beginning of July and it was now September.

"Yes I am, I honestly don't think much is going to happen though. I doubt I'll get called today."

"I hope not."

-The Party-

The moment had arrived. Draco felt the small velvet box in his pocket, still there.

He stood up at the outdoor table and clinked his champagne glass for attention.

"Hello everyone, today we come here to celebrate the war being over, and to mourn those we've lost. Together, forever! Here, here!"

"Here here!" Everyone else repeated.

"I actually have one more thing I'd like to praise. To Hermione, stand up love." Hermione, a little embarrassed, stood up and raised her glass. That's when Draco got down on one knee and pulled out the box.

A collective gasp was heard and Hermione, through happy tears, covered her mouth in shock.

"Hermione, from the moment I got to know you to now I've loved you. I know you are the one for me. Everyday I wake up to your beautiful face and it makes my day 1000x better. I wish everyday could be like this, for you are my sunshine in my world of darkness. You, and only you, are my love. Hermione Jean Granger, I love you. Will you marry me?"

Hermione nodded vigorously. "Yes, 1000 times yes!" Draco smiled and slipped the diamond ring onto her finger.

-A few weeks later-

No, it can't be. Hermione thought. It can't, no.

She looked down at the two pink lines and her heart filled with sorrow, and joy.

"Babe, you ok?" Draco banged on the door.

"Yes, I'm fine." She said. She held the test up to her face, staring intensely at the two lines. Pregnant.

She looked down at her stomach and noticed it was a little bloated, but she'd assumed it was from the cake the night before.

That explained why she'd been waking up sick, and having odd mood swings.

She had to tell Draco.

Hermione stood up from the toilet and looked at herself in the mirror. Her brown hair had lightened, and her eyes shined from the moonlight streaming in the window.

That night she was wearing a button up tee shirt that might as well have been a dress because it was so long on her, it was one of Dracos.

Putting the pregnancy test behind her back, she sauntered into their bedroom where Draco sat upright on the bed.

"Hey babe, you ok? You spent a while in there."

Hermione didn't respond with words. She sat with her legs underneath her on the bed and handed him the test.

It took Draco a full minute to really decipher those two lines before his eyes widened.

"Hermione, are you pregnant?"

With her head down, she nodded.

"And it's mine?"

"Of course it is."

Draco jumped on her, and gave her the biggest bear hug ever.

"I'M GONNA BE A DAD!"

Hermione was startled. "You're, not mad?"

"Why would I be mad?" He pulled away. "This is the best thing ever!" Draco pulled Hermione by her back closer to him. He looked down at the small bloated stomach and said: "My little baby's in there."

Hermione smiled and looked down as well. "Our little baby."
