I laid on his chest as he drifted off to sleep, I wasn't even close to being tired since I slept for so long earlier.

I waited until he was asleep for a while and slid out of bed. I made my way downstairs to see Sam sitting on the couch. "Hey couldn't sleep?" I said and sat next to him. "Nah, I was just editing and now I'm wide awake. I assume you aren't tired." He said and chuckled. "Yeah, 11 hours is a lot of sleep." He nodded, "sorry again we got you in that mess. It means a lot that you shoved Colby and I in that closet." I laughed at his choice of words. "You guys would have gotten in much more trouble if you were caught. I couldn't let that happen." He nodded, "well thank you." He said and I smiled, "anytime. Have you talked to Kat about what happened?" He shook his head laughing, "yeah, she was super worried about you. She's coming here in the morning.
She was going to come tonight but she was busy doing music stuff."

I nodded, "I'm glad she found you." I said causing him to look over, "she always yearned for a guy like you, but she often times got hurt by douchebags instead. It was hard putting the pieces back together." I said and looked at my hands, "so don't hurt her." I warned and he smiled, "I wasn't planning on it Cora." I smirked "you guys also brought me the biggest light of my life," I continued. He listened intently, not interrupting. "Thanks for keeping Colby sane long enough for me to meet him." He smiled and rubbed my back, "thanks for bringing him back" he said quietly.

"He wasn't himself before he met you, but you already know that. We almost lost him a couple times." He looked down, "but seriously the night we went to that cave for that video he changed. Something about him, his attitude, his willingness to explore again. I can't thank you enough for bringing my best friend back." He gave me a hug and I hugged him back. Sam and I didn't really talk as much as we probably should. But this moment was nice, he was like the brother I never had.

"You should get some rest." I said once we released the hug. "You're probably right. You should too, to try and fix that sleep schedule of yours before it gets too bad." I nodded, "yeah, goodnight." I said as he got up and walked up the stairs. I sat there for a minute, taking in the silence of the room. I had never seen this house so quiet. I sat there for a minute before finally making my way upstairs.

Colby was still fast asleep, his chest rising and sinking slowly. I couldn't help but admire him as a small smile played on his lips. I wondered what he was dreaming about as I slid in bed next to him. He instinctively wrapped his arms around my core, snuggling close to me. I turned my head to make sure he was still asleep, and he was. I tucked myself closer into him and eventually fell asleep.

I walked down the hallway, being dragged by a police officer. "Get in there!" He said aggressively as he pushed me into the room. "I didn't do anything!" I cried out as he slammed the door, the room now filled with my sobs. "Don't cry princess. It's gonna be alright." Colby's voice said from behind me. I turned quickly but he wasn't there, instead it was Jason. He lunged at me pinning me against the wall by my neck. "You seem to always escape from me. But now we are both here...locked up...so you can't escape." His tone was menacing causing me to scream out. "This is a dream!!" He laughed manically, "you wish, princess." I writhed against his body as he brutally slammed me against the wall. Screams echoed off the walls. Why wasn't I waking up??

"This is a dream!" I repeated as I sobbed. "Then why aren't you waking up." He said coldly as he kissed my neck, pressing into my neck tighter.

Wake up. Wake up. WAKE UP! I yelled to myself.

I woke up screaming, clutching my chest as I let out pathetic sobs. Colby bolted up, quickly wrapping his arms around me. "It was just a dream baby...it's okay I'm here." He said and held me closer. "It was real! It was real!" I yelled, choking on my sobs. "Sh sh It wasn't baby..it was a dream." He said softly as Sam burst through the door. "Is everything okay?!" He said with a panicked tone. "She had a nightmare." Colby said as he tucked my head under his chin. Sam flashed me sad eyes, "what can I do?" He said quietly as he rubbed his eyes. "Can you make her some tea? It usually helps." Colby said quietly and Sam left the room. "I didn't mean to wake you guys." I whispered. The pain in my voice still prominent. "I know baby. It's okay." He kissed the top of my head.

Sam came back with a cup of tea and handed it to Colby. "I'm sorry for waking you." I said and looked at him with tear filled eyes, "don't worry about it Cora, I hope you feel better." He said and rubbed my back once, then left the room.

Colby rubbed my back soothingly as I sipped on the tea. "Was it Jason again?" Colby said after a moment of silence. I nodded once and looked straight ahead. "He's in prison, love. He's never coming near you again. If he does he has a sure death wish." I looked over as a tear fell from my eye, "I was in prison with him in the dream." He shook his head, "I'm so sorry baby. I'm sorry we got you in that mess." I shook my head, "it's not your fault that it happened...it was just a dream." I looked down, trying to convince myself of it.

It was a dream.

But it still felt so real.
