Colby's POV

Everything moved in slow motion.

"Cora, are you okay honey?" Mom said causing me to whip my head around. Cora looked so pale, she was almost yellow, her eyes sunken in. I only looked at her for a second, before her eyes rolled back and her body collapsed. "Cora!" I yelled and caught her head just before it crashed against the floor.

"Oh my god!" Sam said and crouched next to her, "her leg." He said with wide eyes and started to mess with the shirt she had tied around it.

The shirt was soaked in blood, "what the hell happened?!" Dad said as he and mom rushed over "she fell through the floor, she cut her leg but she didn't say how bad it was. I should have looked. I'm so stupid! I never should have let her come!" I yelled smashing my fist on the floor as my other hand cradled Cora's head in it. "Calm down Cole..." dad said cautiously. "Sam, honey go get a washcloth with cold water on it, Layne, can you get my suture kit and the first aid kit." Mom spoke calmly and began to examine Cora's leg which was now unwrapped from the tshirt.

Sam and Dad ran off to go grab the things needed, "sweetheart, let me see your hand." Mom said and gestured to the hand I had just smashed into the floor. "Don't worry about my hand. Just worry about Cora." I mumbled and looked down at Cora, brushing away the hair that was sticking to her forehead. "I am worried for her, but I'm also worried for you." She said and snatched my hand into hers, she examined it carefully as Sam came back with the washcloth. "It's not broken, but it's gonna bruise." She said and let my hand go, then grabbed the washcloth from Sam and handed it to me, "pat her face with this."

I started to pat Cora's face gently with the wash cloth as my dad came into the room with the two kits. Mom cleaned the area and started to get to work as Cora's face twitched a little, "I think she's waking up" I said and caressed her face gently, her eyes fluttered open slowly. "Hey there, sleepy." I said quietly. "W-what's going on?" She said with a terrified tone, "sh sh...it's alright baby I'm here." I rubbed my thumb along her cheek. Her face twisted into a pained expression, "it's okay, she's almost done." I cooed and looked sharply at my mom. "You cut your leg up pretty bad, but it's gonna be just fine." Mom said with a sweet tone as she finished stitching up her leg. "It hurts." Cora mumbled and looked up at me, "I know. It's almost over though, you're so strong."

Sam went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water and some toast for Cora, along with some ibuprofen. "Aaaaand done!" Mom said and pulled her glasses back onto the top of her head. I slowly pulled Cora up into a sitting position, and grabbed the glass of water and medicine from Sam, "how are you feeling?" I said as she shakily reached for the glass, "I'm okay I think..I'm so sorry." Her voice sounded thick, as if she was about to cry. "Don't cry, love. It's okay. Don't apologize." I pushed some hair behind her ear and held the glass to her lips, her hands were shaking too bad to hold on to the glass by herself. After she had one gulp I brought the 2 ibuprofens to her mouth, "open" I said and she opened her mouth, I put them in her mouth and brought the glass back up to her lips.

"Explain to me what you guys heard again." Dad said after a couple minutes. We all got up to go to the living room, Sam and I helped Cora up, making sure she wouldn't pass out again. "We heard a girl screaming bloody murder, and then a guy talking. There was a loud noise and then sirens.." I could barely get it out as we sat on the couches in the living room. I pulled Cora close to me, soothingly rubbing her side. "Okay. Let's just turn on the news...maybe they said something." Mom said and picked up the remote, turning the tv on.

Sam gave Cora the toast he had made and she was quietly eating it, staring at the tv screen. Even in times like these I was mesmerized by her beauty. I couldn't help but just watch her, she looked over at me and gave me a small smile before grabbing my hand. "How do you feel?" I said quietly and pulled her closer, placing a small kiss on her head. "I'm okay, how are you doing?" She said and looked into my eyes, "I'm horrified." I said honestly and she frowned, bringing her hand to my cheek, "I know. I am too." She then turned her attention back to the tv.

We had the local news playing, but they were doing the weather right now.

We all zoned in, watching the TV in silence. They finished with one story and then the next began.

"Breaking news. A woman was found in the old warehouse, neighbors called the police after hearing screaming. The victim is at the Hillstone Hospital, according to doctors she is in stable conditions. More details to come later."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, "so she wasn't murdered." I said quietly, closing my eyes. "Doesn't seem like it. You guys came really close this time.." Dad said as Cora looked up at me, her face was blank, "are you okay?" I said and she nodded, "I think we need to talk...the three of us later." She didn't sound mad, she sounded almost scared. "Okay." I said quietly and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"I'm glad you guys are okay, I'm going to bed." Dad said and got up, he walked over and hugged all of us and retreated to the bedroom.

"How are you feeling Cora?" Mom said and walked up checking her leg, "I feel better, thank you so much for your help." She said and my mom smiled, then gave her a loving hug, "I'm gonna give you something to wrap your leg with so when you shower the stitches won't get wet." Cora nodded and my mom walked off.

We waited in silence until she came back, handing her a roll of plastic wrap. "This should work fine, okay I'm going to bed. Goodnight." She said and placed a kiss on all of our heads. Once she left the room Sam and I turned to Cora, she looked up biting her lip.

"We should go up to Colby's room." She said and started to stand. We followed suit and went upstairs.

Once we got upstairs Cora sat on the bed, I sat next to her and Sam sat at the chair by my desk.

We looked at Cora as she stared down at her hands. "What's up?" I said softly as I placed my hand on top of hers.

"You obviously don't have to listen to me...but I think you guys should take a break from YouTube."
