Chapter Six: Slughorn's Party

LUNA'S POV

"How about this dress?" I held up an orange frilly dress that stopped at my knees; I was thinking of pairing it with some nude heels and a headpiece. But, when I saw the look on Cho's face I thought otherwise.

"It's not bad Luna I just thought you would want to wear something different; something that you wouldn't usually wear" I raised a brow and looked down at the dresses that I had laid out; and they all looked similar to one another.

"I don't think I own anything that's different from what I would usually wear" she smiled and got up from her spot and walked over to her closet; she took one more look at me before searching for a couple of minutes. She let out a small gasp as her hands stopped on a sky blue dress that had sleeves; she held it up in front of me and I smiled. I would never pick out a dress like that if I saw it in a store but looking at it right now; it looked really pretty.

I took it from her and laid it out on the bed; the stones and glitter that covered the neckline, shoulders and around the waist shimmered and glowed against the walls and ceiling.

"This is beautiful" I whispered

"Well come on let me do your hair!" I nodded and sat down in front of our mirror. She knew that I didn't really like doing too much for my hair and makeup; so she was just going to curl my hair even more than it already was; then she swooped it up in a half fishtail braid while the rest hung loosely over my shoulders.

Next she worked on my makeup; again it was simple. She put light brown eye shadow, put two coats of mascara on and then topped off my lips with a neutral lip gloss that had a lot of shine to it.

finally it was time for me to put the dress on; I wasn't sure if it was going to fit me just because Cho was a little bit smaller than I was. But, once I got in the bathroom and changed I knew it was perfect. It fit me perfectly; I zipped it up and turned to the mirror; smiling when I saw my reflection. I didn't look like me, I felt older, more mature. I'll have to ask Cho if I can borrow this dress again because it is stunning!

I opened the door and I heard a gasp; I looked to my right and saw Cho looking at me wide eyed.

"Oh Luna you look beautiful!" she ran over and gushed at how gorgeous this dress looks on me.

"I love it! thank you Cho, I'll have to come shopping with you sometime" we both laughed

"Come one Harry will probably be here soon" I looked at the time and saw that it was 6:25; I had five minutes. I grabbed my nude shoes; I thought that they still looked nice with the outfit. I slipped them on and we walked out; slowly walking down the stairs. I remember now why I only wear heels for special occasions; because I don't know how to walk in them.

Once we made it downstairs I saw Harry sitting on one of the couches; talking to Steven; one of the older 7th years.

"Hey Harry" they both looked up and their eyes widened; they both stood up at the same time too which made Cho and I share a look.

"Luna! You look great!" even though he said this his eyes were still trained on Cho; I giggled and thanked him.

"We should get going Harry; we don't want to be late" he nodded and held his arm out to me; thank god because I don't know how I would've been able to get down these steps without Cho's help. I said goodbye to both Cho and Steven; who was still staring at me by the way; it was a bit weird considering I've never had a conversation with the guy. As we walked down the halls I noticed how silent Harry was being.
