Chapter Eighteen: Victory

LUNA'S POV

I looked behind me and saw curly black hair; definitely Bellatrix. Draco grabbed me before she could do anything; pushing me behind him as he took out his wand.

"Draco I'm disappointed; I mean with Lovegood? Her entire family are blood traitors" he narrowed his eyes; gripping his wand.

"Don't talk badly about my girlfriend Aunt Bella" he growled; now pointing his wand at her. She scoffed and raised her wand; she didn't even seem worried.

Before she could do anything we heard two more pairs of footsteps coming our way; when we looked we saw his parents running towards us. I gripped his hand as they got closer; they didn't look too happy.

"Bella what are you doing to my son!" his mother ran over and tried disarming Bellatrix; but she failed. She was flung back into Mr. Malfoy's arms. I watched his eyes narrow; looking very similar to Draco. He lifted his wand and muttered a curse towards Bellatrix; it hit her in the arm; she didn't have time to dodge it. she yelled out as blood sprayed everywhere; the cut was so deep I swear I saw bone before she covered ti with her other hand. She glared at Mr. Malfoy before she aparated away; we were left in silence.

Then they turned to look at us; Draco stayed in front of me and held his ground. We weren't sure what they were going to do; but we can't take a chance.

"What do you want? Shouldn't you be with the other Death Eaters?" since Draco confessed to everyone that he liked me and showed to everyone that he didn't want to be on the Death Eater side; he's been very confident with what he says.

"Draco you need to listen to me-"

"-No I'm not doing that because when I did I ended up becoming a Death Eater without asking to be one!" Mr. Malfoy frowned but Draco continued before he could try,

"I've hurt so many people father; people who didn't deserve anything that I threw at them; I've had to watch my girlfriend get tortured by my aunt, I've had to avoid friendships that I would've rather had. You've ruined my life; how am I supposed to get a job now that all we're known for is being Death Eaters?" his father was in shock; I don't think he expected him to blow up on him like that. His mother was shocked too but I thought I saw a smile on her face. I walked out from behind him and grabbed his shoulder; trying to calm him down. He wrapped his arm around my waist and tugged me closer; snuggling into my neck.

I could see Mr. Malfoy gripping his wand tightly; I was worried that Draco was going too far.

"Draco remember he's still your dad" he squeezed my hips and sighed; looking back at his dad.

"I'm happy just the way I am right now; with Luna. She hasn't forced me into anything; I can be my own person when I'm around her." His mother looked at me and smiled softly; nodding slightly towards me but not enough that her husband noticed.

Mr. Malfoy sighed and put his wand away; looking Draco in the eyes.

"I'm sorry" Draco blinked; shocked at what his father just said. I don't think he's ever heard his dad apologize; even his mom looked shocked.

I squeezed his hand and that seemed to bring him back,

"Do you think a simple apology is going to fix everything? You think that everything can go back to normal now? Will it take away the mark that I have?" I squeezed his hand as a warning as he pointed at his hand where you could see the beginning of the mark before it was cut off by his shirt; I could see his father beginning to lose patience.
