Chapter Seven: Polyjuice Potion

DRACO'S POV

"Today you will be pairing up and making the Polyjuice Potion" Snape handed out some papers to everyone; I quickly read over the instructions. We all had to have a signed paper in order to borrow the book that has the instructions for the Polyjuice Potions; if it's in the restricted section should we really be trying this out? What if the wrong person learns it? my eyes looked right at Parkinson, Crabbe and Goyle.

"But, I will be pairing you; that way I know you won't be...slacking off" Snape's eyes went to Potter and Weasley who winced under his stare. Snape began to pair people up,

"Weasley and Parkinson" I heard Parkinson whine when she wasn't paired with me; Weasley didn't look too thrilled about it either and for once I felt bad for him.

"Potter and Crabbe"

"Granger and Chang" oh and that's another thing; we had to have a day with both Gryfindors and Ravenclaws; apparently there wasn't enough Hufflepuffs who joined potions this year so they added three houses in one class; kind of crowded but there wasn't any other choice.

"Malfoy and Lovegood" my eyes looked over at Lovegood and she smiled at me; getting up from her seat to sit beside me. Okay, maybe this wasn't going to be so bad; Lovegood was probably the only person who didn't annoy me.

"Hey" she whispered; trying not to catch Snapes attention,

"Hey" I replied; soon Snape finished up pairing people up.

"Now I won't be able to give you everything on this list; obviously you have your own cauldron and burners to work with when you're in your common rooms. But, you have to wait to pick Fluxweed when the full moon is out; I don't expect you all to get this perfectly but please don't show me mediocre potions" he once again looked over at Potter and Weasley who looked upset,

"You won't have enough time today but go over with your partners on how you would like to start; you have 30 minutes" I heard whispering all around; the first time this year. I turned my chair and saw Lovegood already looking at me,

"So where did you want to do this Potion?" I thought about it; I seemed to have better Cauldrons and I had the best burner in my dorm; maybe we'll do it at the Slytherin dorms.

"Maybe the Slytherin Dorms? I have a really good set up" she nodded; not really arguing with me.

"Okay, Snape left us with Knotgrass, Leeches, Lacewing, Boomslang Skin, and Bicorn Horn. It also says here that we need a hair of the person that we're going to turn into." She looked up at me,

"I didn't realize we would be turning into each other; I just thought there was a way to find out if the potion was good or not" I chuckled,

"If only it were that easy" she shrugged and looked back down at our paper; I couldn't help but notice that when she's focused she tend to bite her lip and play with a strand with her hair; it was cute.

'Cute?! Draco what are you talking about?!' I shook myself out of those thoughts.

"It also says that the first thing that we'll need is the Fluxweed; but we have to wait until there's a full moon; when is the next full moon?"

"I'm sure Snape wouldn't have given this to us unless he knew that there would be a Full Moon soon" she nodded,

"We'll have to check the calendar once we get back" I raised a brow,

"I didn't realize we were going to be working on this today" I thought about the vanishing cabinet; I wasn't even close to being done so I had to do that as well.
