- Wednesday, April 4th -
“We’re here.” The driver said sleepily.
“Okay. Thanks dude. Don’t worry about helping us, we’ll be fine.” I handed him money and climbed out after the others.
We had five bodyguards with us, and they had already gotten out of the other cab. I got my things and we headed into the hotel. We checked in with the front desk, as the bodyguards had to check in to their room, and we each had to get a key for the room we were sharing with Nora.
Once we were in the elevator, Ashton pulled out his phone to make a keek. It took him a moment to set up, and the ride was almost over by the time he started recording.
“Hey guys! Were in America right now, in a hotel where we’ll be staying for the week. Were just about to exit the-”
The elevator dinged just then, and he stopped talking. Our room was the second door to the right, and he started talking again as I unlocked the door. I opened it walked in, and froze. Ashton walked into me, looked at what I saw, and turned the phone around.
“What? What is it?” Calum asked. A girl, who I recognized as Roxie whirled around. She sprayed us with something, and Ashton and I ducked, leaving Michael to get a face full of silly string.
“Holy shit! You scared me! I thought you were a robber or something jeez!” She whispered.
“Yeah. Silly string would be a great defence against a robber!” Ashton whispered back.
“You never know. They wouldn’t be expecting it.”
“True. But, uh, why exactly are you awake at three in the morning?”
She shrugged. “Couldn’t sleep. It’s not uncommon for me, especially when I’m excited about something. My brain doesn’t shut down, and I can’t fall asleep. For this, you can either help me prank the other three, or suffer my wrath later this week. I’m Roxie by the way. If you didn’t recognise me.”
Ashton’s phone vibrated, telling him there was no time left on the video. It sounded impossibly loud in the silence of the room, and Roxie glared at him. She checked to make sure no one had woken up before going back to glaring at Ashton.
“Shh!”
“Sorry! I was recording a keek!”
“I don’t ca- I was in it wasn’t I?”
“Yep! And it’s already posted. And on twitter.”
“Oh well. Sorry about the silly string Michael. And nice hair.”
Michael, who had been pulling silly string off his face, looked up and smiled. “Thanks! And don’t worry about it. I’ve had much worse done to me.” He looked at em and I smiled back as innocently as I could.
Roxie laughed silently. “I know!”
“You saw the video, I assume?” Calum asked. Then he pushed Michael farther into the room so he could enter, then shut the door behind him.
“Saw it? I didn’t just see it, I’m the reason it exists!”
“What do you mean?” Ashton asked. He was recording another keek. I got nervous. If the world found out about the letters . . .
Roxie looked at him, figured out what he was doing, and smiled at the camera before answering. “Luke asked for my help because he was tired of you guys constantly pranking him, and I was all too happy to help. I have a whole list of prank ideas, I shared some with him, told him how to do each one, and requested that he record it so I could see my mastermind ideas as they were finally played out. And to your fans, I say: You are all very, very welcome!” She didn’t mention the letter project, and she talked at just the right speed, so the video ended half a second after she finished talking.
