(Chapter 1)
"Counting Stars"Sunday, September 2
7:30pmJillian carefully carried a large box through the door to their new apartment.
"Ugh! Okay, I think that's everything," she finally set it down by the front door.
"Do you need more help?" Darren asked.
"No, that was the last box," she told him. "I'm going to go lay down for a couple days now."
"Come here," Darren pulled her into a hug. "So, what do you think?"
Jillian looked around.
The apartment was huge with shiny wood floors, and plenty of large, close, perfectly clear glass windows displaying the breathtaking city.
A long beige couch under a cream-coloured rug across from a small coffee table and big screened TV set filled up the living room.
There were a couple flowers and plants to bring the room to life.
At the farthest end was a pristine, chrome kitchen with a marbled island."I love it. It's perfect," Jillian beamed.
"It's all ours."
"I can't believe it!"
"I know, I'm excited too."
"This whole apartment for me and my fiancé," she looked up at him.
"It still hasn't sunk in that we're engaged."
"You proposed two months ago. I have the ring to prove it."
"I know, it's just... too good to be true."
"Don't say that. It is true. Don't try to jinx anything, or I swear I'll kick you!" She snapped.
"Come on, I'll show you the bedroom."
Darren led her to a dimly lit bedroom with a canopy bed.
"Oh, my god, look at it!" She admired.
"It's good?"
"It's great!"
"I'm so glad you like everything."
"Oh, my god, come here," Jillian turned and kissed him.
"Wow..."
"You know what might make it more official? If we consummate our engagement."
"I think we've already done that a hundred times over.
"Okay... then how about in celebration of our new apartment?"
"Really?"
"I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted to do it in every room of this apartment."
Darren kissed her.
"Then we should get started."Later...
Darren kissed Jillian's forehead.
"I'd stay up with you even later, but we start classes in the morning.""Oh, god, we do."
"Don't worry, it's going to be great."
"Since when are you excited about school?"
"College is better than high school, trust me. And I get to start astronomy classes."
"I'm actually looking forward to creative writing too."
"And we're coming home together every night."
"Actually, that sounds really nice."
"Goodnight, Sirius."
