(Chapter 8)
"Come Home"Friday, November 2nd
6:00pmOn the rooftop of Richards, Jillian, Shae, Rachel, Emma, Sarah, Brielle, and Daniella sat together in mostly silence.
"So, are we going to talk at all about what happened the other night?" Brielle finally asked.
"What's there to talk about?" Rachel shrugged.
"I can't believe they still have no suspects," Daniella said.
"Monica angrily accused Alex," Shae told them.
"Alright, we need to be real here, we all got separated from our dates that night," Brielle stated.
"Just you three," Shae pointed out.
"Oh, come on. It was a frat house party on Halloween, that place was packed, everyone lost track of everyone, anyone could've done it. No one even noticed Julia went missing," Rachel reasoned.
"And I can't believe the guys are being treated as suspects at all. We know them, they're our friends, they couldn't have done this," Daniella defended.
"We don't know that. We just met them a few months ago, we don't know what they're capable of. They all lived right next to Julia, they were all with her at the party, and they all disappeared at some point in the night," Sarah argued with her.
"Exactly, all of them. So, what are the chances that one of them actually did it?"
"That's not even a real argument!"
"It could've been anyone at that party, and it was too wild to keep track of anyone. Just because they went missing for a little while, doesn't mean they killed Julia," Jillian said.
"Exactly," Daniella agreed.
"I'm just saying, I have a bad feeling. We all knew Julia. She was small, and quiet, and shy; she only would've gone to a secluded place at a wild party with someone she knew and trusted. She knew all the guys, they lived right next to her. She wouldn't have gone to the back hallway with someone she didn't know," Sarah pointed out.
"Sarah actually makes a lot of sense," Shae admitted.
"I agree," Emma said.
"She makes a good point," Brielle shrugged.
"I agree with her, too," Rachel added.
"I guess," Daniella sighed. "But, it wasn't Cody!"
"It wasn't Roland either!" Rachel declared.
"Jason wouldn't hurt a fly," Brielle insisted.
"Okay, enough! Let's just all agree to be on our guard. I'm sure this will get solved eventually," Sarah reasoned.
"Has any of them said anything?" Shae asked.
"No," Rachel answered.
"They haven't said a word," Daniella replied.
"I guess there's nothing left to do now," Brielle shrugged.
"This whole thing will blow over," Rachel assured.
"We can only hope..." Shae sighed.
~3 weeks later...
Thursday, November 22nd
4:00pm"Darren?" Jillian called from their living room.
"I'll be right out."
"What are you still doing?"
