The next morning when my alarm goes off 20 minutes earlier than yesterday I climb out of bed and brush my teeth and brush my damn hair. I do so be-grudgingly while cursing Tosh. I put it in a french braid and then I put on some mom jeans that my mom bought me with a fitted lavender t-shirt. I feel so stupid but I promised Tosh and since he has never once let me down in life I have to keep my promise. I'm so nervous, I feel nauseous and pathetic. The jeans I would wear but the shirt is something I would never wear. I hear a knock on my door and open it to a smiling Tosh."You look great! How do you feel?" His empathetic smile and tone warm my heart because he is trying to reassure me.
"Stupid. People will be able see my boobs. I hate my boobs." I say and let out a huge deep breath I was holding onto forever.
"Well....may I be totally honest?" He asks cautiously.
"Okay." I say and hold my breath again.
"They look amazing. If everyone had your rack plastic surgeons would become a thing of the past." He says with animated eyes.
I flinch and he laughs.
"Are you just making fun of me? I can't tell...and I'm doing this for you. You are like the only person that has never let me down or hurt me. Please don't start now?" I say and feel my eyes sting and he smiles gently.
"Jax I have never lied to you and I never will lie to you. You have great tits, great hair and a pretty hot body. Embrace it!" He says and rubs my shoulders. I can tell he's being sincere so I hug him, sometimes you just need a hug. My mom comes walking down the hall yelling for dirty clothes and she sees me and she gets that look again that she got the other day before I went to the mall, she quickly takes her gaze off me and picks up my stack of dirty clothes outside my room I set out for her last night.
"I'm glad those jeans fit." She says and hurries off. I look up into Tosh's eyes and we both smile.
"This is how much I love you." I say and spread my arms wide and he does it back to me.
"I still love you more Bae." He teases with his goofy grin. This is our nick name for one another. It's only to make fun of people in relationships that use that word. When did the word babe become so hard to say?
We walk out into the kitchen to gather the rest of our carpool crew. Next week Jonas will drive, then Tosh and we will continue to rotate weekly. June squeals when she sees me, Joey just smiles and Jonas looks confused. I quickly roll my eyes at Jonas and grab my backpack and hope that Tosh yells shot gun. No such luck, I hear Jonas beat him to the punch. In the backseat Joey is dishing about his new love interest to a very interested Tosh. It's the same girl that stole him from me yesterday morning.
"Can we walk to class this morning together or are you going to bolt as soon as you get out of the car like yesterday?" Jonas asks. We have AP calculus first period together.
"That is so not what happened. You ran into Lauren's arms and made out before class." I snap at him.
"I didn't make out with anybody. Where do you come up with this stuff? I didn't even see her yesterday. I had to go get my schedule because I missed Tiger Days to go to the Katy Perry concert." He says. Incredulously. "We aren't together, Jax."
Tiger days happens the week before school starts. You can get your schedule, change your schedule, pay your fees and run into all the jerk-offs that will make your life hell for the next year. The Tiger is our school mascot.
"So, what will it be?" He asks with a smug look on his face.
"No, I will not walk with you." I say and glare at him out of the corner of my eye. "I'd rather eat deep fried dog shit than do anything with you."
