Monday morning I wake up to my alarm and get ready for school. Joey texts me from the kitchen and says we have no lunch stuff and we'll have to buy. Nice Janie....way to take care of your kids. I brush my hair and straighten a few strands in the front with a flat iron since I have a few strays that are tweaking out. I'm really trying here. I even put on a thin layer of mascara because Tosh texted me and told me too. Well, he suggested I wear make-up. Mascara is all he's getting. After I dress in a pair of shorts and a Mr. Rogers tee shirt that squeezes my boobs. It shrunk so I fight with it to stretch it back out for several minutes before I feel comfortable. I climb in the back seat flustered at the chaotic morning I've had.
Jonas and I walk to class and I don't hate it today. It's nice to have the company and he's always good company. Well, when I don't hate him he's good company. I did spend the whole weekend with him and Tosh and I didn't hate him at all. That is a long time for me to go without feeling annoyed by him.
"Your hair looks pretty today." Jonas wraps a end of it around his finger when we sit down in class.
"I'm trying." I make my eyes sad so he knows how much I hate it.
"Jax, you don't even have to try that hard. You're beautiful." His twinkly eyes make me laugh.
"Morning Jax!" Tristan taps the back of my head with a pencil and I turn around to his smiling face.
Attention deficit disorder Boy. Brace yourself.
"Morning." I reply as I feel my shoulders tense.
"I love seeing you first thing every morning." He states as he takes his seat in front of me and then he rambles about his weekend until the teacher tells him to stop. He stops for a second and then turns back around and starts back up, talking away.
"Miss Jones and Mr. Quin I will need this to stop or I will have to assign you detention." The teacher says and I freeze. Detention? He better shut his face.
"We're about to wrap up a weeks worth of detention together." Tristan beams with pride like the dope he is.
"Miss Jones is this what you want? Because Mr. Quinn seems rather eager to spend more time with you." The teacher sounds bored.
"No. I do not want detention. I want to focus on what you have planned for today." I make eye contact so she knows I'm being sincere. If I get another detention because of Tristan he will die a terrible slow death at my hands.
"Very well. Stay turned around Mr. Quinn or I will re-assign your seat before assigning you detention." The teacher states and Tristan sighs loudly. She places her hands on her hips and watches him carefully.
"Is there a problem?" She asks him after a calming breath.
"No, not at all. Please continue....it's riveting." He replies with so much sarcasm I'm surprised when she lets it slide.
When class is over Tristan spins around. "You know we still have one day left of detention." Like he's thrilled.
"How could I forget?" My voice thick in sarcasm. He winks and stands to leave, putting his hand down towards me to assist me up.
I roll my eyes and stand up without any help from him. "Let me walk you to class."
"I'm walking with Jonas." I say up to him and then I lock my arm in Jonas arm and we walk out together as Tristan follows.
"See ya at lunch!" I hear him yell eagerly.
"You've got a persistent fan club." Jonas looks down on me as I untangle my arm from his.
