This Chapter is dedicated to my sister Porscha who is getting her first chemo treatment tomorrow morning! I hope this makes you laugh. I love you and will be thinking of you. If I have time tomorrow morning I will upload chapter 11 for you. Stay strong and stay positive. You will beat this. xoxoxThe next few days I leave at lunch and eat tacos. I got taco sauce all over my shirt yesterday and Jonas made fun of me all afternoon for being such a pig. Today is Friday and Tosh did a homecoming proposal for me in second period so the whole school knows I said yes. He did a very public and overwhelmingly embarrassing proposal and is spending his afternoon in detention because of it.
He wanted everyone in school to know so Gavin would abort mission on his dumb proposal. The school has a rule that the proposals can only be done at lunch hour, if done on campus. Tosh broke that rule by standing on the Teachers desk and singing the song 'High Hopes.' A song we used to sing as kids. "Just what makes that little old ant think he can move that rubber tree plant..."
He belted it out like his life depended on it, while, stepping on her papers and her sandwich. She was trying so hard to get him off and he stumbled when she tried to grab his ankle. The look on his face before he fell on the Teacher will forever be etched in my brain. I have never laughed so hard. He looked so scared and turns out he was. He thought he would break something. He was laying on top of her and she was screaming. She broke her thumb when she fell back. The whole class was in hysterics, including me. The teacher not so much.
So, that is how Tosh Holbrook earned a weeks worth of detention. And probably a F in Economics. It was so cute and honestly if I didn't know that he still enjoys eating boogers I would be IN love with him. Instead I just love him like I love Joey. The car ride home all we do is talk about Tosh Holbrook and his memorable homecoming proposal. Tosh and I were laughing so hard reliving it I almost had to pull over and take a break from driving because I was laughing so hard. I couldn't see the road in front of me because I was crying from laughing so hard. It's just going to be one of those things that will make me burst into laughter just thinking about it. Tosh has to go straight back to the school for detention and Joey is dropping us off at the house before he has to be back at school for the football game tonight. He runs in the house and I leave the car running for him so he can grab a snack. I'm not going to the game because I have to watch the little's for my mom and Steve. Steve has an award dinner, so lucky me.
"See ya later." Jonas mumbles. His head slumped, jaw clenched, hand on his neck he looks sad. Pathetic even.
"What's wrong?" I ask concerned for my friend.
"Just a weird day." He shrugs still not looking at me.
"I hate those. You wanna come hang with me and the little's?" I ask him with excitement and a little jump at the thought of good company.
"Okay." Jonas beams finally looking at me. He strides up the paver path and leaps over the tiny courtyard wall and grabs my backpack off my shoulder and there is something about the way he looks at me that makes my head swim. Am I nauseous?
"You okay?" He asks with concern."You're white as a ghost all of a sudden."
"I don't feel good. For a minute...." I stop myself from saying that for a minute I thought I was attracted to him. Because it has to be that 5th taco I over indulged in today at lunch. "I thought better of having the 5th taco." I rub my belly.
He laughs and puts his arm around me and leads me to the front door.
"Hi!" My mom beams at Jonas like he is Zeus the Greek God. "Where's Tosh?"
"Detention after the most talked about homecoming proposal in the history of West Chandler High." Jonas says and he looks annoyed which makes me giggle. Maybe Mr. Ego hates sharing the spot light with Tosh? Tosh's popularity is growing daily and after that show today the girls were swooning for him. There's something about a guy that will make a jack ass out of himself that really speaks to girls, apparently.
