Lunch the next day Tristan sits down beside me before Jonas Holbrook gets the chance. I wish he hadn't beaten him to the punch but what can I do?"Dude, I was just gonna sit there." Jonas glares down at Tristan.
"I didn't realize. But the tables got plenty of room, dude. I'll take good care of her.....you have my word." Tristan beams at me and I try not to be amused but it's so hard....he's just goofy....and clueless. "Look, I had my mom make the cookies I was telling you about. I brought you some."
"Thanks." I pick up the ziploc bag. "These roofied?"
He laughs. "Stop. What's the point to life if you aren't awake to point out all my flaws." He shrugs.
I wish I didn't but this does make me laugh. He is so confusing to me. One minute I can't stand him and the next minute he makes me laugh.
"Try one." He is so encouraging with his angelic blue eyes. How can he look so angelic right now? Mystifying!
I pull the bag apart and take it out before Joey rips the bag out of my hand and takes the second one.
Boys!
"That is very delicious." I smile at Tristan.
"If you were my girlfriend I'd make my mom make you cookies everyday." Tristan beams.
"I'm sure your mom would be thrilled." I roll my eyes and Joey laughs out loud.
"Jax is really into the feminist movement right now.....you won't be winning her over with that." Joey beams at Tristan.
"I'm a total feminist too." Tristan says and I laugh despite what a total airhead he is.
He talks my ear off all of lunch and when the bell rings he picks up my back pack and starts walking.
"Oh don't do that." I say and reach for my back pack.
"Nonsense. Let the strong, strapping young lad you agreed to go out with carry it for you." Tristan says and I can feel Joey, Jonas and Tosh all drop their jaws. Tristan turns to them with a huge smile on his face. "Did she tell you we're getting married. I'm in love." His goofy smile stretched far past his normal smile has me feeling very uncomfortable.
"I only said that to shut you up and get your giant physique out of my way. You know I didn't mean it." I put my hand on the back pack. "Plus, I'm really into equal rights and you carrying my back pack makes me feel unequal."
"You gonna grow your pit hairs long? Because I think that's hot." I can't help it I laugh out loud. He's a total moronic air head.
"Of course you do. Now give me my back pack before I cause a scene." I reach up and he sighs.
"Fine, but I refuse to let you pay on our date." Tristan beams down at me.
"Okay, Tristan. I'll see you in culinary." I grab my back pack and step in line with Tosh who waited for me. I look around for Jonas who usually waits for me too. I don't see him anywhere.
"Tristan Quin is gonna be your first ever date?" Tosh laughs loud and I hit him in the gut. I hear him wheeze.
"Stop it! You know I never would date that dip shit." I say and he tries to grab my back pack. I laugh and hand it to him and watch him sling it over his left shoulder as it bumps his on his opposite shoulder. "Your feminism doesn't reach me, eh?"
"You're like my sister." I say and we both roar in laughter.
When we get to class Jonas is no where to be found.
