Cassandra's POV

The next day, James agreed to head to the Southern Kingdom with me. I wanted to officially introduce him to the Crown and Piers. They needed to meet the future king.

While I was taking my clothes out of the closet, James was making my bag. We agreed I wouldn't sleep in this room anymore, as I didn't need it anymore. I'd sleep with James.

"When do we leave?" He asked, I could hear he was nervous, and I couldn't blame him. He'd go to unknown territory.

"After this," I stopped and looked at him. "You don't have to come, if you don't feel comfortable."

He showed me a small smile. "I want to come," He walked to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "I support you all the way, remember?"

I smiled too. "I do."

We finished packing and dropped my bag in his room. Afterwards, we walked to my horse and carriage.

"Get in." I said as I opened the carriage.

"Ladies first," He gave me his hand to help me get in. It would feel like a servant but the way he looked at me, showed me his true intentions. "Are you comfortable?" He asked as he got in too.

"Yes," I then looked at the rider. "To the South."

"Yes, Milady." He got on the horse and started riding us back to the Southern Kingdom.

On our way over there, James was looking outside the carriage. He was looking at everything in awe, especially the Middledes Woods. "It's beautiful."

I smiled at him. "It is," I looked at the dense woods. "A perfect natural barrier between both kingdoms."

He looked at me. "It seems rather easy to cross it though."

"It is," I looked outside. "If you maintain on this flat road. Going away from this road is tricky as there are cliffs that aren't always visible."

James nodded as he looked at the woods. "It's still beautiful."

I smiled and retreated from the window to sit back comfortably in the carriage. I looked at James, and smiled even more. "I can't wait for our child to be here."

James then looked at me and sat back in his spot too. "Me either," He held my hands in his. "The baby will be perfect."

"I hope we have a son."

He raised his eyebrows. "A son?"

I nodded. "I want a son who looks exactly like you," I then caressed his cheek. "A mini you."

James smiled. "Well, I want a daughter who looks exactly like you as you are the most beautiful person I know."

I smiled a bit. "We'll see."

He nodded. "We will," He then looked down, gulping. "So what's the plan?" He looked at me then. "When we arrive."

"We go to the Crown and introduce you as my fiance, they have to approve of you but those are formalities."

He gulped once more. "What if they don't approve of me?"

"I don't care," I scooted closer to him, caressing his face. "All I care about is you and our child, the Crown can stick their stupid rules where sunlight can't reach." I smiled then.

James chuckled a bit.

When we arrived in the South, James was visibly nervous and not comfortable. He was in an unknown place and I could see he didn't like it here. And that worried me, as he would have to become king...
