Chapter 58

A year and half later

Rebecca and Colby were on the way to Saint Paul, Minnesota. They got to the airport and boarded their flight with their daughter and son in tow. Luckily for them they got 4 first class tickets. Once they took off Colby fell asleep. Lauren looked at Becky and whispered something to her.

Lauren: Mommy can I lay with daddy?
Rebecca: Of course baby.

The little girl didn't hesitate she climbed into his lap and laid her head on his chest and within minutes she was asleep. Colby woke up and saw the sleeping 3 year old in his lap and just wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head. He fell back to sleep and it wasn't until Lauren woke up that he too decided to wake up and be ready to get off the flight.

Colby: Rebecca. when did Lauren climb onto my lap and everything?
Rebecca: As soon as you fell asleep. She whispered to me trying not to wake you she was yawning and getting sleepy and she asked if she could lay with you and I told her she could and the minute her head hit your chest she was out.
Colby: Did you sleep any on the plane?
Rebecca: Not really. But I am ok.

Colby nodded and picked Lauren up while Becky had CJ and got off the plane and made their way to the hotel. Hunter had made sure they had special lodging since they have two little ones so they got a 3 bed room penthouse suite and Hunter never charged them for it ever. They get in and Rebecca goes to her and Colby's room and grabs her elastic out of her make up bag and pulls her hair up in a messy bun. She starts looking for Colby and she can't find him. She finally sees him outside rocking Lauren and CJ and what he does next brings tears to his eyes.

Colby singing: Hush little babies don't say a word. Daddy's gonna buy you a mocking bird.

Colby hears Rebecca sniffle and looks up to see her tearing up and he just smiles at her as he continues to hum the song.

Rebecca: Wow, Colby that was beautiful.

Rebecca picks up Lauren and she lays her head on Rebecca's shoulder as Colby stands up with CJ and they carry them to their rooms and put them to bed. After that they get ready for bed as well.

Colby: I'm kinda hungry. You?
Rebecca: Starving.
Colby: Why don't I run out and get food and you can put on a movie. No Frozen though.

Rebecca laughs at that sentence ever since Holly introduced Lauren to Frozen that's all she watches.

Rebecca singing: Do you wanna build a snowman, come on on let's go and play. I never see you anymore, come out the door it's like you gone away.
Colby: Ok that's enough you keep singing that and a 3 year old will wake up.

As if on cue Lauren comes out of her room with her Olaf plush.

Lauren singing: We used to be best buddies and now were not I wish you would tell me why. Do you wanna build a snowman, it doesn't have to be a snowman. Go away, Anna. Ok Bye.
Colby: Great now she is up.

Rebecca just giggled and decided to have some fun.

Rebecca and Lauren: Elsa, do you wanna build a snowman, ride our bikes around the hall. I think some company is overdo, I have started talking to the pictures on the wall, hang in there, Joan. It gets a little lonely all these empty rooms just watching the hours tick by.

The clicked their tongues like clocks ticking. Colby is just shaking his head at his girls.

Rebecca and Lauren: Elsa, please I know you're in there. People are asking where you've been. They say have courage and I'm trying to just let me in. We only have each other just you and me. What are we gonna do? Do you wanna build a snowman?

Colby starts clapping after their little Frozen performance.

Colby: Ok Princess back to bed.
Lauren: Ok. Night mommy, night daddy. I love you.
Colby and Rebecca: Love you too, Princess.

Rebecca puts Lauren back to bed and Colby goes and gets food. Oddly enough Colby left his phone behind and his screen lit up. It's Leighla, but how she thought. Then she remembers she would be eligible for parole after a year and apparently it was granted.

Leighla: I'm baaaaack. You thought sending me to prison was going to get rid of me Colby Daniel Lopez think again. By the way when are you gonna tell your wife that you told me the week after I got out of jail that you loved me and wanted to get back together?

Rebecca turned off the screen and began crying hysterically.
Colby returns and sees her in a ball on the couch crying.

Colby: Rebecca, what happened.
Rebecca: Check your phone.
Colby: Leighla?! No she is in prison.
Rebecca: Was. She was granted parole 6 months ago. I need to know something right here, right now. Did you tell that bitch you love her the week she got out?
