Derek's POV
"Shut up someone will hear us. The vault's a gold mine." Whisper yells a man from behind me. I tune my ears onto them but don't make a move to turn around.
"Ok sorry. I just can't believe we found the map to a Hale vault." Laughs the other guy.
At the mention of Hale vault I can't help but turn my head. The boy talking is about 18 and real excited and I can't quite put a finger on his sent. The guy he's talking to is behind the bar wiping the counter. My eye is immediately drawn to the ring on his finger. I've never seen anything like it but at the same time I feel like I've seen a drawing or something of it somewhere.
"Yeah well you can have it. I don't want the trouble. I just stumbled across it anyway." Says the blonde haired boy with the ring.
At this I stand up and walk up to them."I would stay out of it if I were you. A gold mine doesn't even begin to describe it." I say my hand resting on the muscular brown haired kid.
"What are you talking about?" Says the blonde haired one obviously the smart one.
"Look dude whatever you think you heard you didn't so back off!" Says brown hair. A brave little one. I see a little bit of my old self in him but I'm not going to start a bar fight with him.
"Alright. After you tell me where it's located..." I pause waiting for his name.
"Tyler. And why would I do that." He says turning around so he's properly facing me. Everything about his stance saying fight me.
"Look guys if your going to fight take it outside please I don't want anything to do with this." Says the blonde one. Throwing his hands up in defeat.
"You seem like the smart one. How about you tell me where it is and I'll get out of your hair." I say looking at him. My eyes ripping daggers in him.
"Matt you tell him and you'll end up like your sister." Snaps Tyler from beside me. At the mention of his sister his face falls for a second, pain filling my nose.
"That wasn't nice." I say looking back to Tyler.
"Whatever old man you want to take this outside?" Snaps Tyler all confidence.I raise my eyebrow turning on my heal and out the door. Tyler closely following.
"Tell me where it is!" My teeth showing as I hold him up to the wall with one hand by his neck.
"It's funny cause you think your stronger then me" laughs the kid in my grasp.
"That's because I am." I snarl.
"Alright, it's in these woods. That's all I know. That's all Matt knows. First too it, gets to keep it. Game on old man." Wheezes the kid in an attempt to laugh in my grasp.
I drop him and he falls to the floor before picking himself up, laughing shaking his head and walking back into the mystic grill. I turn and run into the woods. I needed to steady my heart rate, the kid had wound me up.
I had been looking through the woods for awhile. When I stumble across a tree line that leads to a big brick house. I stand up at look at it. I can't hear any heartbeats coming from inside but there is one coming down the driveway. I frown as I smell something. It's familiar. Too familiar.
"This is private property! Get out!" I was snapped out of my daze as a guy with black hair was suddenly very. Up in my face.
"What the...." I turn my head as I hear a girls voice mumble. The voice I know oh so well.
"Harper!" I say forcefully, pushing the guy aside picking Harper up. It was the most affection I had been to a person in a very long time but the pull to her was so strong almost like a bond.
"I... You..what are you doing here?" She says whispering down to me.
"Got bored. I had to leave beacon hills." I say looking up at her before putting her down. That's when I notice another heartbeat coming towards us.
"Why are you here?" She asks desperately fear radiating off of her.
"I don't know... Are you ok?" I ask letting my face fall to concern.
"Hey." Says the blonde from the bar to Harper touching her shoulder making her jump.
"Get off my property before you end up like plant food." Says the voice from behind me. The man with the black hair and muscular build says causing more fear to fill my nose coming from Harper.
"Your scaring her." I say my usual scowl on my face.
"She has reason to be scared just like you do." Smirks the man in front of me.
"Damon please." I hear Harper whisper behind me. Then he's gone.
"Where did he go." I snap at Harper.
"Inside I guess." She shrugs.
"Hey don't talk to my girlfriend like that." Says the blonde waiter.
"Matt it's fine." She says a smile on her lips.
"I can't believe your here." I say a wave of pain hitting me after what Matt said causing me to glare at him.
"I knew you weren't paying attention!" She laughs the smile I love on her face.
"I was in a mood that day. I knew you were moving to Virginia isn't that enough." I say my face its permanent scowl.
"Your always in a mood." She smiles a genuine smile.
"Are we talking or are you a chicken?" Asks Damon from behind me. He's leaning on the door, a glass of scotch in his hand and a smirk on his face.
"I'm coming," says Harper before looking back to me, "I have to go." She walked off into the house her boyfriend following but I swear I heard her whisper to me, "get out of this town."
