Queenie, can you hear me? Tina thought, laying on the cold stone floor of her cell. It was two hours after the acolytes threw her in the cell, and there was nothing to do but stare at the flickering flame of the torch. She doubted Queenie would hear her, but it was worth a shot.

But there was nothing back, the message bouncing off the walls of her mind, so she tried again. Queenie, can you hear me? And nothing.

And she tried again. And again. And again. It was silly to hope, Tina thought as she sat up and leaned against the wall. She closed her eyes and tucked her feet in.

And then she sensed a little pink flicker in the corner of her mind. Queenie. She grabbed onto it and pulled.

Queenie?

Tina?

Where are you?

It's a long story. Where are you?

I'm in Newt's house. We left when the acolytes came. So you're sharing a room with him, huh?

Queenie!

Fine, fine. Where are you? You're too far away, I can't read your mind as easily. I just sense a lot of stone.

I'm in a cell, Queenie.

A cell? Tina could sense the shock in the thought.

Yes, a cell. I'll try to send you what happened. She pushed everything that happened to the front of her mind and projected it to Queenie. A beat as Queenie processed the information.

Tina, why do you have to be so heroic?

I'm no hero. But I had to do that. Of course, I would. If I hadn't, they'd all be dead.

You know you'd be dead too, right? That's exactly what I'm talking about. You never think twice if it'll help someone else. But you never think about yourself.

We can have that conversation later. Are you okay?

Not a scratch.

Good. The acolytes said that once Grindelwald wakes up, they're going to move me somewhere else.

Okay...I'll keep a close watch. Mentally, obviously.

I have no idea what time it is.

Ten at night.

Get some sleep. I know you're tired. We'll talk later?

Later. Love you, Teenie.

Love you, Queen.

Tina laid back, slumping against the wall, and reviewed her prospects. She was in the clutches of Grindelwald, her capturing Grindelwald was a failure, and the only way she could contact the Ministry and Magical Congress was through Queenie, and that was incredibly inconvenient, as well as tiring. And she didn't even have her wand. Grindelwald would obviously try to interrogate her, and she had to have had extensive knowledge on both the lawmaking bodies of some of the most powerful countries in the Wizarding World. She was the prime target. Of course. They'd torture her, as they did to the other aurors, but not immediately. No, they would try to get the information out of her with Grindelwald's best trickery. But that gave her plenty of time to hide the information. The information would need to be accessible but also hidden from the effects of magical mind manipulation and, especially, veritaserum. It would be hard, but Queenie might be able to help with that. She'd learned to block her most private thoughts from Queenie, mostly, so she had some experience.
