Elena: "So the Lockwoods really have no idea that these tunnels are underneath their property?" she asks when her, Alaric, and Jaylan walk through the tunnels
Alaric: "Yeah. Careful where you shine that thing. Bats hate the light."
Jaylan: "Wait. What?" she says stopping in her tracks at what he says before she feels a familiar presence behind her
Damon: "Elena. Boo!" she screams out scaring her making Damon chuckle
Elena: "God, Damon."
Damon: "Scaredy-cat."
Alaric: "Just ignore him. That's what I do."
Jaylan: "So you really can't get in?" she asks shaking her head at him before continuing to walk behind Alaric
Damon: "No. Seems even the ancient Lockwoods were anti-vampire."
Elena: "What do you mean, ancient?"
Damon: "See for yourself. This is as far as we go." he says as him and Jaylan are stopped and the other two continue into the cave
Elena: "What is all this?"
Alaric: "Well, as far as I can tell, it's a story. In simple archaeological terms, it's a really, really old story. That right there is a moon cycle. A man. A wolf."
Elena: "A werewolf."
Damon: "Yeah. It's the Lockwood diaries, Pictionary style."
Jaylan: "I don't understand. I thought the Lockwoods came here with the original founders in the 1860s." she asks looking at what she can see from the corner
Alaric: "Ah, maybe the Lockwoods did, but according to this wall, these werewolves have been here a lot longer than that."
Elena: "How long?" she asks looking around
Damon: "Long. Gets better. Show her, Ric."
Alaric: "Names, and they're not native. They're written in runic, a Viking script."
Jaylan: "Vikings?" she asks in disbelief
Alaric: "This name here, when translated, it reads Niklaus."
Elena: "Klaus."
Alaric: "And Elijah And Rebekah."
Elena: "These are the names of the original family?"
Alaric: "Carved into a cave that's That's been here since way before the founding of Mystic Falls or even the entire new world, for that matter."
Elena: "Ok, this has gotta be one of Klaus' fakes."
Damon: "That's what I said." he says leaning against Jaylan as they look at the two inside
Alaric: "That could be true, except the last name up here made us think otherwise."
Elena: "What's the name?"
Alaric: "Mikael."
Elena: "Mikael." she whispers
Jaylan: "Mikael, as in the vampire hunter who knows how to kill Klaus?"
Damon: "Yep. And I like to call him papa original." he says as Alaric takes pictures of the wall and they all go back to his apartment where Damon and Elena start training before him and Jaylan have a go at it while Brielle is sitting next to Alaric
Alaric: "These images tell a story to learn the story, you have to decipher these images."
Damon: "Sloppy." he says taking the knife from Jaylan's hands before she snatches it back
Jaylan: "Shut up. I haven't done this in a while."
Damon: "The ghost of Christmas past, Mason Lockwood, said that the cave would lead us to a weapon that could kill Klaus."
Elena: "Yeah, but doesn't Mikael have a weapon?" she asks from the table next to them while Damon blocks move Jaylan makes
Damon: "Yes, which probably means the wall will lead us to Mikael, who we've already found and lost. Bang. You're dead." he whispers taking the knife and pointing it in her way before she speeds around twisting his arm pointing the knife right at his heart
Jaylan: "Bang. You're dead." she whispers in his ear
Damon: "Impressive." he smirks at her over his shoulder before giving her a peck
Alaric: "These images, at the very least, might tell us what that weapon is."
Elena: "Then all we have to do is find out what they mean."
Damon: "Well, fine. Fine. If I'm being irritatingly optimistic like you two. How do you suppose we do that?" he says moving over to the humans in the room
Jaylan: "Well, if the story's about the original family living here, then we go straight to the source." she says as her and Elena leave to the school to talk to Rebekah
