Jaylan is in her room at the boarding house sitting on her bed when Stefan walks in Stefan: "Come on let's go." He says excitedly making her look at him in confusion Jaylan: "Where are we going?" Stefan: "Think its time to teach you everything about the animal diet." Jaylan: "The sun is out." She says pointing to the closed window Stefan: "I know." He says calmly making her look at him like he's ridiculous Jaylan: "You are aware that you were the one to say that if I go out in the sunlight I'll burn, set fire, and die." She says making him chuckle a little Stefan: "I'm aware. I also remember promising you this." He says pulling out her necklace Jaylan: "The vervain necklace you gave me." She says confused Stefan: "I took the vervain out," He says turning her around to put the necklace on her before leading her to the window "Turned it into something else." Jaylan: "What?" She asks skeptically beforehand grabs her arm and pulls the curtain back. She goes to jump back expecting for her arm to sizzle, but it doesn't "What the..?" She asks looking at her arm Stefan: "I couldn't find a ring that would suit you, so I used your necklace. Now you can go in the sun." He says as she moves her hand in a circle Jaylan: "Thank you." They both smile at each other Stefan: "Come on." He grabs her hand going downstairs and opening the door. He steps down from the porch turning to watch as she slowly walks out. When the sun hits her, she closes her eyes putting her head back breathing it in with a smile on her face They walk deep into the forest looking for an animal to eat Jaylan: "Wait so you're telling me" She starts stepping on a fallen log with Stefan holding her hand to keep her steady "That you've never had a dream..or I guess it would be more of a nightmare, where all the forest animals rally together and eat you. You've never had that?" She asks making him laugh while shaking his head Stefan: "No. Never." Jaylan: "Huh" She says getting off the log "So all you eat is animal blood. Never a drop of human." Stefan: "Not anymore." Jaylan: "How come?" Stefan: "Let's just say that I'm not at the best when I'm on human blood. I become dangerous." Jaylan: "Is that why you broke it off with Elena?" She asks making him sigh Stefan: "With me I'd just be putting her in danger. She wouldn't be safe." Jaylan: "Hate to break it to you, but even if there weren't vampires in the world it still would be a dangerous place." Stefan: "She deserves someone who's going to give her a normal life." Jaylan: "Normals boring. If you're gonna live your life, live it to the fullest. Besides you more than anybody should know how unpredictable life is. You don't wanna waste any second of it." She says as he thinks of everything she said before they stop seeing a deer in front of them "I can't do this." She whispers as they watch the deer walking around Stefan: "It's gonna be hard the first time, but once you get used to it, it'll be easier." Jaylan: "But I mean..it's so innocent. I can understand it with people cause some of them are horrible, but" she says motioning her hand to the deer "You're asking me to eat Bambi." Stefan: "Animal blood is a substitute for human. It'll help with the urges more. Trust me." He says as she sighs before looking back at the deer Jaylan: "My childhood is about to be destroyed." She says before speeding over to the deer taking a bite out of its neck, drinking its blood
