Jaylan: "Have you even talked to Bonnie?" She asks Caroline over the phone while laying on Damon's bed Caroline: "No, I'm mad at her. She needs to make the first move." Jaylan: "You know there's this called being the bigger person?" Caroline: "Ugh, impossible in her presence." Jaylan: "Why are you so pissed at her anyway?" Caroline: "She's a thief, that's why. I gave her my necklace and she refuses to give it back. It's a matter of principle." Jaylan: "All right, I tried. I'm officially out of it." Caroline: "Good. Your turn. When are you coming back? This place is a bore without you." Jaylan: "Soon, hopefully. I just wanna be in the right headspace before coming back." She says sighing while looking at a cup of blood on the nightstand next to her Caroline: "I get it." Jaylan: "How's Brielle doing?" Caroline: "She's missing you like crazy. The phone calls aren't enough for her. Tyler tries to keep her mind off you, but it's you so it's hard." She says making Jaylan chuckle a little on her end Jaylan: "Thank you for helping to watch over her. I'm sure there are about a million other things you could be doing with your time." Caroline: "Are you kissing. Miss a chance to hang out with my adorable goddaughter. Not a chance. I'm happy to do it." Jaylan: "Thanks Care," She says as she hears the bell ring over the phone "Looks like you gotta go." Caroline: "Yeah but I'll talk to you later. Get better so you can come back. I miss you." Jaylan: "I miss you too," She says smiling sadly "Talk to you later." Caroline: "Bye." She says hanging up as Jaylan puts her phone down sighing before looking over at the cup and taking a small sip from it
Stefan Damon: "Rise and shine. Gonna be late for school." He says as Stefan sits up from his bed Stefan: "What are you? What are you doing?" Damon: "Peace offering," He says holding out a mug "Come on, you need it for blood circulation. Does dead flesh good. All right, I'm sorry." Stefan: "Step aside, please." He says going into his bathroom Damon: "I got the town off our back. It was for the greater good. But I'm sorry. And to prove it, I'm not gonna feed on a human for at least a week. I'll adopt the Stefan diet. Only nothing with feathers. And I'll also take over Jaylan training for a while." Stefan: "Because I realize that killing your closest and oldest friend is beyond evil and yet somehow it's worthy of humor." Damon: "Are you mimicking me?" Stefan: "Yes, Stefan. Now that the secret society of vampire-haters is off our back I can go back to my routine of "how can I destroy Stefan's life this week?" Damon: "And I can go back to sulking and Elena longing and forehead brooding. This is fun. I like this." Stefan: "And I will finally reveal the ulterior motive behind my evil and diabolical return to Mystic Falls." Damon: "Yeah, I'm done. This is so like you, Damon. Always have to have the last word." He says before walking out the room
Jaylan is downstairs in the living room and she pulls the curtain back a little to let in a tiny bit of light. She puts her hand in it and immediately pulls it back wincing when it starts to sizzle Stefan: "Stop doing that." He says coming into the room to see her wince Jaylan: "Well what am I supposed to do? Stay in the dark for the rest of my life. I wanna go outside. I wanna feel the sun on my skin" She says sitting next to him on the couch "You said we're supposed to act natural, how am I supposed to do that if people never see me in the sun?" Stefan: "You'll go outside eventually. We need to get you under control first." Jaylan: "I just wanna go in the front yard, not in the middle of town square." She says annoyed Stefan: "The sun would burn you, set you on fire, and kill you." Jaylan: "You and Damon walk in the sun. Why can't I?" Stefan: "I told you already it's because of the rings." He says holding his hand up and she takes it so she can look at the ring more Jaylan: "Well then how do I get one?" Stefan: "I'm working on it okay. Trust me. But for now" he says grabbing the empty cup in front of her refilling it making her roll her eyes and groan while falling back "Focus on your control. I promise as soon as I find a way to get you a daylight ring I will." He says handing her the cup and standing up Jaylan: "I was told this vampire thing was going to be fun." She tells him as he reaches the door and opens it Stefan: "Yeah that person was lying." He says before walking out the house
