The coffee place looked really nice, and you could smell hot chocolate long before you saw it. I hadn't been to a place like this in so long, and it felt nice.
Jungkook seemed to get more and more excited as we went. We didn't really talk much, but I noticed he got more sure of himself. More confident. He looked even taller as he straightened his back, keeping his head high. His face looked even more handsome from this angle, his nose perfectly fitting his face, and his eyes the perfect distance from each other. Perfectly balancing out his face, and his lips...
He interrupted my thoughts when he asked a question. "So, what's your story?". "My story?". He just nodded. "I dunno, there's really nothing interesting about me. I moved here a couple of years ago and started working at Jin's restaurant pretty early. The job was requested to me by a mutual friend, named Namjoon" I said, looking ahead as I spoke. "Namjoon? As in Kim Namjoon?" he asked. I nodded in return. "Oh I know him, I met him 6 years ago when I moved here too". "Really?" I asked, thinking about him knowing Yoongi too. "Yeah, he's one of my best friends," Jungkook said, smiling.
"Yeah. He's nice. So, I was talking to a friend the other night. And he mentioned you actually.." I said, just as we entered the cafe. "Really? Who was it?" he asked, interest sparking his eyes. "Min Yoongi. He was talking about his birthday". "Ah, yeah Suga, you mean. "S-suga?" I asked curiously. "It's Yoongi's nickname," he said, chuckling. We sat down at a table, and almost immediately a waiter came to our table.
"Hello, what can I get for the lovely couple?" she asked, with a sweet smile. I blushed immediately and said, "No, we're not a couple". "Oh, I'm sorry" she apologized and handed us the menus. Then she turned and walked away. Jungkook slightly chuckled and ran his hand through his hair. I grabbed a menu and started going through it. He didn't say anything either, and even though I knew I was being stubborn, I didn't want to be the one breaking the silence.
"So, apparently we look like a couple" he finally said, a sly smile on his face. "Y-yeah" I answered, laughing awkwardly. "Poor woman, she must have been embarrassed" he continued. "I wouldn't really mind though," he said, smiling to himself while looking at the menu. "W-what do you mean?" I stuttered feeling my heart rate pick up. "I mean, any man would be lucky to have you" he suddenly said, looking up at me and blinding me with his smile. I felt my mouth open a bit in shock, and my eyes were so wide, I was afraid they were gonna fall out. My expression lasted for a few seconds, as our eyes met, and I could not look away. Still, I felt my cheeks color red, as I blushed. It was Jungkook who finally had to lower his gaze, and then I could finally breathe. I hadn't realized, but I had held my breath as we looked at each other.
Suddenly, a different waiter came to our table. "Hi, my name is Eric, and I'll be your waiter today," he said, and I noticed that he was only looking at Jungkook. I tried not to let it bother me, thinking it was only a mistake. "Are you ready to order?" he then asked.
I completely forgot to decide my drink! Quickly, I looked down at the menu and picked the first thing I saw. "Uh, I'll have the watermelon, please," I told the waiter, but it almost sounded like a question. He just nodded without really looking at me. "I'll have the banana milk," Jungkook said and looked at me with a smirk. "Perfect, I'll be back with your drinks momentarily". The waiter gave Jungkook a bright smile, before turning around and leaving. I started playing a bit with my sleeve, pulling at the loose threads.
"I didn't know it was normal for the waiters here to flirt with customers" He suddenly said, making me gasp and giggle a little. "You noticed that too?" I asked him a bit teasingly. He nodded back at me. I smiled a bit, before returning to my sleeve. "Do you like it when other people flirt with you?" I asked him, without thinking. He looked at me a bit shocked, and I turned my head away mumbling an apology. "No, I mean I don't really mind, but I'm not interested in any of them". "Who are you interested in then?", my curiosity burning through my embarrassment. He just looked at me, scrutinizing my face. He didn't look offended or embarrassed, but not exactly happy either.
Just then the waiter came with our drinks. He placed the green watermelon drink in front of me, and the banana milk in front of Jungkook. Jungkook didn't really acknowledge him, but still, the waiter stood by our table a little bit longer than necessary. I noticed and scoffed a bit, rolling my eyes. Jungkook seemed to notice that though and stared at my face. I tried to ignore him focusing on my drink.
The taste of watermelon exploded across my mouth from just a tiny sip. "Wow!" I exclaimed, drinking a bit more. "It's good right? Jungkook said, drinking his on banana milk. I hummed in response, closing my eyes as I enjoyed the taste. It reminded me of the summer evenings where you didn't do anything except lying in the sun and feeling the sun burning on your skin. Even though the drink was cold, it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
It felt really nice to just do this. Just two people hanging out, not really putting any pressure on each other and the conversation. I wish I could do this everyday. It felt really nice.
