Noah P.O.V

It sucks when you know you need to let go, but you can't because you're waiting for the impossible to happen. Being ignored by someone whose attention means the world to you is the worst feeling. I let her in, I fucking let her in. And she completely destroyed me. I know when to stop, I know when to let things go, I know when to move on. But 'I know' is a lot different from 'I can'.

"So, how's Cameron?" I asked Hailey as we were going out of the school.
"I guess he's ok. I think he likes me, despite somebody's best efforts." She pointed at where Cameron and Lexi were standing. She was giggling and twirling her hair, while Cameron was leaning against the wall in front of her. When Lexi noticed Hailey staring, she immediately started whispering to him, wiping the smile off his face. Hailey rolled her eyes and looked away.
"Don't worry, you'll get him in the end." I tried to cheer her up. "Everyone knows that Lexi doesn't actually like him, and it's just a matter of time before he finds out."
"I guess you're right..."
"Hi, how are you?!" interrupted a delicate voice from behind us.
"We are alright, thanks. What about you, Laela?" Answered Hailey.
After stealing a glance at her beautiful face, my eyes got fixed to the ground: It was about a month since she rejected me, and I wasn't making the same mistake again.
"Yeah, well, I'm alright as well," said Laela excitedly. "You guys free this afternoon? Cam and I are meeting up at the mall after school and I was wondering if you guys could come."
Hailey smiled. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
"How about you, Noah?" Laela pressed.
"I can't. I have tons of homework and exams to study for."
The excitement disappeared from her face. "And maybe another day?" she asked hopefully, but in a small voice.
"No." I turned around and walked away.
As I left Hailey ran by my side. "Wait!"-She shouted "I think you need to tell me some stuff"
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, come on! I know you. You used to be so crazy in love with Laela and now you just acted like a jerk. You keep avoiding her all the time, and ever since you made out with her you're acting so awkward. I'm your friend, you know you can tell me anything, remember?"

I took a deep breath "Sorry I didn't tell you, Hail, It was just too painful, but I guess you should know..."
I told her everything about how she rejected me, about how I cried alone, about my behavior of the past few weeks. I couldn't help it, my eyes started watering. After I finished I felt so relieved. I always knew Hailey was an amazing, beautiful person. And it this instant I just wanted to hug her tight and never let go. And so I did. I don't know if it was the emotion that took me to do this action, I didn't even think about it. I just kissed her.
