Laela P.O.V.

"Noah, Noah! Where are you taking me?!" I screamed, trying not to laugh.

"Close your eyes and soon you'll find out!" He shouted back. I took his hand and followed him into the unknown.

When we finally arrived, he gave me permission to use my eyesight. We were on the terrace of Liam's house, overlooking the city skyline. The metropolis consisted of a couple of skyscrapers surrounded by smaller buildings, every construction lit up by a million lights. Every light shone bright with power, making the night seem somehow less dark. As if that wasn't enough, above the view hung a giant full moon, round and circular, making it seem like it was only shining for us: the scene was breathtaking.

Noah must have seen the expression on my face, as he asked- "Isn't it beautiful?"

"Very," I replied in awe.

"Well, I didn't just bring you here for the views." He said softly. "I brought you here because I wanted to show you why I was acting like this."

I sighed when he stopped. "I'm listening."

"See that?" he told me, pointing his finger at the beautiful landscape. "That is one heck of a beautiful sight. When you look at it, doesn't it take your breath away? Well, that's exactly how I feel every time I look at you."

He waited to see my reaction, but I didn't have one: I was speechless.

"And you see that?" He continued, pointing at a trashcan nearby, which was overflowing with rubbish. "You know that disgusting feeling that you have while looking at it? That's probably how you feel every time you look at me. Even if you had any feelings for me at some point, they will probably just turn into rubbish that you will throw away into your trashcan. And in this case, the trashcan is me."

"How could you possibly think that?" I looked at him in disbelief. "With all due respect, you are not thinking straight right now. The amounts of beer you had tonight don't let you."

"That's not true," Noah said with a serious look in his eyes, by which I could tell that he was very much sober. "I didn't have alcohol in the entire night, and it's gonna stay that way. The only reason why I was bumming around so much tonight was that I thought that it would make it so much easier if I pretended to be drunk."

There was only one word that describes the way I was feeling: confused. Where was he going with this? "I still don't understand. If you like me, why didn't you say yes when I asked you out?"

"Because..." I could feel his voice take the tone of a confession. "What I feel for you, is more than words can describe. I love you Laela, I love you. But I don't want a relationship if the feeling isn't reciprocal." He finished.

I took a deep breath. "Look, when you asked me the first time I liked you, but I felt like it was a lot to take in. I couldn't react properly, I was too overwhelmed. Plus, I wasn't as confident about my feelings as I was when I asked you." I sincerely replied

"What do you think would happen if we kissed right here, right now?" he continued, digging his hands into his pockets staring right back at me.

"I think it would cause a riot."

"Well, you know me," he says, lowering his head towards me. "Causing a riot is what I do best, and that was everything I needed to hear." Said Noah with his soft, comforting voice.

And so, he didn't waste a single second, he approached me, then looked at me in a way he had never done before. It made me realize that I was about to live the most romantic night of my life. I opened my mouth to say something but before I knew it, he kissed me blazingly blocking my voice. We were on a terrace, together, under the full moon, and I didn't even know what got me to this point. A kiss in spin the bottle? A look in a corridor? All I knew was that no one existed around us. I couldn't tell whether we were kissing for five minutes or five hours. My heart was so overloaded with emotions that it felt like it was going to explode any minute, but I couldn't let go, and I wouldn't let go. It felt so good to be held by Noah's arms as they trembled when they held me, I adored to sense his heartbeat hard against mine and I knew that whatever I was feeling was mutual. And again, for that one moment, everything not only felt perfect, but it was also solace and confident. But most importantly, it was true.
