Lexi's P.O.V
"I need to talk to you." Said Cameron as I greeted him. He indicated for me to follow along until we found ourselves in an isolated place on the patio.
As we sat down, I started rabbiting about everything I had planned ahead for us, "There are only a few minutes left of patio, so you better hurry up! Oh, and remember that today we need to post the answers to the Q & A on Instagram, and we have to finish taking those pictures in the mall so we can both post! And we also absolutely need to..."
Before I could end my sentence he interrupted me bitterly. "Lexi, it's over." His eyes were ice-cold.
I stared at him with a disoriented gaze, whilst I started processing the information. "We don't need to answer the Q & A if you don't want to," I replied hopefully.
"You know perfectly well that Q & A is not the reason I'm doing this."
I was shocked. "Cam, I love you. How can you be so heartless?"
Cameron kept his eyes steady, but I rested mine on his beautiful face. The sorrow was already building up.
His hair was woven by the breeze, and his facial features softened just slightly before he spoke, "You say it like it means something. What is love to you? Am I a joke to you Lexi? You took advantage of the situation, I did too, and it was wrong."
"Why do you think that?" I asked in disbelief.
"Let's just say that your new friend, Mckenzie, told me everything I needed to know. You're not the girl I thought you were, and it's over." His face got paler than I ever recalled it being. He then took a long, deep breath before glancing at me for the last time, and I could very clearly see the heartbreak in his eyes. Or maybe not? It doesn't matter anymore. Cameron had dumped me.
Relationships are a bit like an emotional bank loan: you give in far more than what you really take. And, well, when this whole thing started, I never thought I would give away anything at all. At first, I didn't, and Cam noticed. However, over time I became entirely entitled to it, and when I was finally ready to give out everything, it was too late. How do you tell your fake ex-boyfriend that you started to develop real feelings for him? Well, you just don't.
