Emily's P.O.V

I was making my way home when I got a notification. I checked my phone and realized that Cam decided to message me.

"Hey, Emily. How'd you feel to meet up at the mall? It would be the four of us, of course."

I took a moment to think about what he was saying, but I found myself replying to him almost immediately.

"You mean me, you, Liam and Hailey?"

"Of course" he answered.

"Kk. But I think it may be more romantic if we meet up at the park ;) What time?" I asked

"At seven, and the park it is."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I arrived at the meeting point when the sun started to set. The park was a giant garden with intricate vines and flowers woven through the fence surrounding it. Bushes with exotic plants were dotted around the plaza, greek statues in different shapes and sizes were placed all around the place, and in the middle of the park a giant fountain squirted water out.

"Wow, you were definitely right." Said Cameron as the rest of the group joined me. "This place is beautiful."

I found my eyes wandering all the way to Liam, and the wind waved his blond, golden hair while his dark brown eyes met mine. Funny, a week ago I could have sworn that he was really quite ugly, but now that I looked at him, I somehow found him attractive.

"Well, I think we're going to give you two some space." Said Hailey after a few minutes, making my cheeks blush as I realized that we were staring right into each other's eyes the whole time. To my surprise, Cameron took Hailey by the hand and pulled her away, leading her through the bushes so we could get some privacy. Just the fact that they decided to do that made me feel uncomfortable.

"Soo..." I began. "Can this get any more awkward?"

"Not if I can help it," assured me, Liam. "And anyway, I think they're just using us as an excuse to get some time alone."

"I guess that's true, but... Isn't Cameron going out with Lexi?"

"You'd be surprised." He said. "I think that it's just about time for Hailey and Cameron to get back together."

"I guess that's true." I acknowledged him. "That Lexi never did Cam any good."

"You are so right. I told him over and over again that the only thing she cares about is her popularity status, but he would just not listen to me. Trust me, I know a perfect match when I see one." he looked at my eyes longingly, reaching for my hand and holding it gently. This time I didn't pull it away. We kept talking and talking, enjoying each other's company, until the first droplets fell from the sky, marking the beginning of a heavy rainstorm, and it was time to go home.
