All I Can Think About - Part 2

Following Cyrus' admission, Jonah tries to find out more before explaining how he feels about Cyrus. Told from a single POV.

Jonah POV

My heart stopped temporarily, as I allowed Cyrus' words to sink in. I never knew that he felt like that about me, but I felt the need to dig deeper into his thoughts.

Me: I... I'm not really sure what to say.

Cyrus: Oh no, I've made a mess of this, sorry I'll just...

Cyrus stood up in order to leave, but I gently grabbed his hand. I wasn't going to just let him go, for we had so much to discuss.

Me: Sit back down dude, I just want to talk.

Cyrus: Go on then, tell me how you don't like me back.

Me: Cy...

Cyrus: JoJo, I don't have the heart to listen to rejection.

Me: Will you just answer some questions for me first?

Cyrus: Ugh... fine.

I knew that this must've been difficult for him. That didn't stop me from asking the questions, as I felt I should know the answers.

Me: How long?

Cyrus: How long what?

Me: How long have you felt this way about me?

Cyrus: It first occurred when Andi first introduced you to me. I was completely smitten.

Me: What took you so long?

Cyrus: It was hard, I felt like you would hate me and that you wouldn't feel the same way.

He started to cry again, but I wasn't about to let him suffer this time, not after he was rejected by TJ. It was time for more of the truth.

Me: Cyrus, look at me.

Cyrus: I don't know if I can Jonah.

Me: I would never hate you, how on earth could I? You have always been there for me, and I appreciate it.

Cyrus: But how do you---.

I knew what he was going to ask, but I decided to answer before he could finish. I pulled him close and connected our lips. He didn't fight it, and melted into the kiss. I broke it off, as I needed to take a breath.

Me: Does that answer your question?

Cyrus: Oh yeah, so what do you say? Will you go out with me?

Me: I just kissed you, so yes, I will!

There was a knock at the front door, and when I answered it I was met by Andi and Buffy. They looked very concerned.

Me: Hi girls, what's up?

Andi: We saw that Cyrus came back to you.

Buffy: We wanted to know how he was.

Me: Follow me.

I took the girls up to my room where Cyrus was still sat on my bed. When they entered, they saw his smile and the relief on their faces was a picture.

Buffy: You okay?

Cyrus: I am now.

Andi: Why so happy all of a sudden?

Cyrus: Shall I tell them?

Me: Please do.

Buffy: Tell us what?

Andi: What's going on?

Cyrus: Jonah and I are going out.

We didn't have to wait very long to get a reaction. They smiled, and then they gave us both a big hug.

Andi: It's about time.

Buffy: What took you so long?

Me: I was stupidly denying how I felt.

Cyrus: But it's all good now.

All of it had made us feel complete, with a strong sense of belonging. I couldn't believe I almost lost Cyrus to TJ, but fortunately, that didn't happen.
