A Big Change - Part 2

Cyrus tries to work out what he should do after hearing what Jonah said. His mind and his heart have a tough choice to make.

Cyrus couldn't move, his heart was making him think. He was not sure what Jonah meant by love, but he knew he had to ask.

Cyrus: You love me?

Jonah: Yes, don't you love me?

Cyrus: I...

Jonah: Cyrus, dude it's very clear what you think of me.

Cyrus: Jonah...

Jonah: You don't have to be embarrassed or sad, I'm actually so happy you like me.

Jonah was starting to worry that he had misinterpreted everything that Cyrus had ever done around him. Cyrus was struggling to speak.

Cyrus: You... What? 

Jonah: Please tell me that you like me.

Cyrus: How long have you known?

Jonah: Known what?

Cyrus: That I like you.

Jonah: I've known since the moment you became MVP of the Space Otters.

Cyrus didn't know how to react, he was puzzled that Jonah, who was known for being oblivious, had noticed how he felt.

Cyrus: Why didn't you say anything back then?

Jonah: Because it may have made you freak out. I wouldn't want to do that to you.

Cyrus: But it would've made it easier if you had.

Jonah: I'm sorry if I've made you feel uncomf---.

Cyrus had a strong urge, and acted upon it. He kissed Jonah, and it lasted for at least a minute, before pulling away.

Cyrus: I hope that shows you that I'm not uncomfortable.

Jonah: You could say that, and by the way, you're a great kisser.

Cyrus: Am I? You're the first real kiss I've ever had.

Jonah: Well, in that case I'm really pleased to be the first.

Cyrus: Is it too quick for me to ask you out?

Jonah: Perhaps, but I don't care, I would love to go out with you.

Cyrus: And by the way.

Jonah: What?

Cyrus: I love you too.

Jonah felt Cyrus' hand slip into his. It was completely different to holding Andi's hand. Cyrus was gentle and being around him just felt right.

Jonah: You have the most beautiful smile.

Cyrus: And you have nice dimples.

Jonah: You like my dimples?

Cyrus: I do, they're such a wonderful feature.

Jonah: No one ever mentions them, I never thought they were that important.

Cyrus: Trust me they are, because your dimples make you look amazing.

Jonah: Thanks.

Cyrus: And you wouldn't be Jonah Beck without your dimples.

Jonah: Thank you Cyrus Goodman.

Cyrus: I prefer Cy-guy.

Jonah: And I prefer JoJo.

Cyrus: Fine by me JoJo.

Jonah: Thanks Cy-guy.

The light chuckle that Cyrus let out made Jonah feel warm inside. He didn't need Andi anymore, but he also knew that Cyrus was going to be there.
