Jyrus Oneshots - Part IV (COMPLETED)

Inadequate

After getting their exam results, Jonah receives bad news and feels inferior to his friends, causing one of them to point out his good features.

It was the day most people dreaded. The Good Hair Crew were going to find out what their science exam results were.

They had all met at Andi's house, and wanted to find out what they got at the same time. It was a nervous moment for all of them.

Andi: You ready?

Buffy: Let's do this!

As they opened the envelopes which gave them the scores. Andi and Buffy were delighted, they had scored A+, Cyrus scored a B, but Jonah just looked deflated.

Cyrus: Are you okay?

Jonah: I'm okay.

Andi: It can't be that bad, how did you do?

Jonah: I got a D.

There was an uncomfortable silence, where Jonah was stressing and Cyrus was thinking of something positive to say.

Cyrus: It's not the end of the world Jonah, you can easily get a better mark.

Andi: Absolutely, I bet you only just missed a C.

Buffy: And surely this gives you something to aim for?

Jonah: Sorry... I have to go.

Jonah wiped a tear away and ran out of the front door. Cyrus gave the girls a look, begging them to do something.

Andi: Cyrus, I think you should go and talk to him.

Cyrus: Me?

Buffy: Definitely, you're his best friend so if anyone can get him through this, it's you.

Cyrus: Okay, I'll go and talk to Jonah.

The girls nodded at him, whilst he went in search of Jonah. He found Jonah sat on a bench by the front door.

Cyrus: Jonah, don't be upset.

Jonah: I'm not sure I want to talk about it Cyrus.

Cyrus: You don't have to think about the result, remember that you have other good qualities that I can only dream of.

Jonah looked at Cyrus, feeling himself calm slightly. He wasn't really sure about what Cyrus was talking about though.

Jonah: I can't think of any qualities I have that you don't.

Cyrus: Let me see... You are very protective of your friends.

Jonah: I am?

Cyrus: You always make sure we're okay. You make friends easily and you stand up for people when they feel weak.

Jonah: I don't really do that.

Cyrus: You stick up for me, and the girls. When I felt sad, you made me MVP.

Jonah: But you deserved that because of your loyalty.

Cyrus: And it made me feel so much better.

Jonah: You really think I can do better?

Cyrus could see Jonah was asking this question with anxiety in full force. He knew that he had to encourage his best friend.

Cyrus: You have the potential to achieve anything, you just need to believe.

Jonah: Thanks dude, I feel much better.

Cyrus gave Jonah a hug and led him back in to join the girls. There was now a positive feeling in place of a negative one.
