Super Secret Meeting

Cyrus wonders where Jonah keeps heading off to after school, and follows him with surprising results.

Cyrus was becoming concerned about Jonah. After everything that they had been through, he felt that his friend was becoming distant.

When class had finished, Cyrus spoke to Buffy and Andi about his concerns, but it wasn't very helpful.

Cyrus: This is really bugging me.

Buffy: What is?

Cyrus: The Jonah situation. He keeps going somewhere without telling us.

Andi: To be fair, is it any of our business?

Cyrus: Maybe not, but surely you can see how oddly he is behaving.

Buffy: I'm not so sure.

Andi: He has been a bit weird, I can't deny it.

Cyrus: Exactly, so I'm going to find out once and for all, what is going on with him.

Andi: I hope you know what you're doing.

Buffy: Whatever happens, don't do anything I wouldn't do.

Cyrus: Trust me, I will get to the bottom of this.

Buffy and Andi had their doubts, but Cyrus didn't care. He spotted Jonah leaving through the exit, and did his best to follow him without being caught.

He kept up with Jonah, managing to avoid detection, until Jonah reached his destination. Cyrus noticed that it was very quiet.

Jonah headed down an abandoned ally, and spoke to a girl. Upon closer inspection, Cyrus realised it was Amber. He kept quiet and listened in to the conversation.

Amber: So, how is it going?

Jonah: It's awful, I can't even talk to him anymore.

Amber: Why not?

Jonah: I get awkward around him. He's done nothing wrong, yet I find it difficult to be near him.

Amber: This is got out of control. It's only Cyrus after all.

Cyrus felt like time stopped, his mind could no longer think straight, not that it was unusual seeing as he wasn't. He stayed silent, and wanted to know more.

Jonah: But he can do better than me. I'm so inadequate compared to others.

Amber: I don't think Cyrus sees it that way Jonah.

Jonah: What are you saying? You think just because he's gay, I can do no wrong around him?

Amber: I'm not saying that, it's more just the fact that he seems to be obsessed with you.

Cyrus couldn't help but blush, as he knew he had been anything but subtle. Typically Jonah was the only one not to notice what was going on. Cyrus knew that he was going to have to tell the truth.

Cyrus: You should listen to Amber, she speaks honestly.

Jonah: Cyrus? How long have you been there?

Cyrus: I followed you from school Jonah. I was getting worried about you going away from us.

Jonah: Oh, so you know everything then?

Cyrus: Not quite. Why are you so awkward around me?

Jonah: It's because... I'm in love with you, and I didn't know how to tell you.

Cyrus felt like he could cry tears of joy, this was a massive moment for both of them. Jonah was also on the verge of tears.

Amber: You two need to talk, I'll leave you to it.

Amber gave Jonah an encouraging look before smiling at Cyrus. She knew they were meant to be, but they would have to work that out for themselves.

Cyrus: Jonah, I'm in love with you too. You made me feel like I could be myself.

Jonah: Same here.

Cyrus: Seems like the only true thing we can do it go out.

Jonah: I thought I was supposed to be the confident one?

Cyrus: You are, but around you I'm the most confident and happy person in the world.

They didn't know that Andi and Buffy had followed and saw everything, but they kept quiet, as they didn't want to ruin the moment. They were pleased to see that the boys were happy.
